NOTE: I really hate to be posting so many threads, but I tend to ask a lot of questions. Sorry. Just part of my learning process. D:

Okay, so as I'm coding my kernel, I'm noticing that all I really know how to do right now is the bare minimum...and that it uses up a hell of a lot more RAM than some more efficient ways. I'm also noticing that I know very little in the ways of graphics, movement and input.

I've read through Andrew Davie's tutorials, Kirk Israel's tutorial and cookbook, a guide on what each of the opcodes do, and the Stella Programming Guide, all thoroughly. I spent a whole night reading and re-reading the SPG. I still feel I really don't know much about what I'm doing.

Further backing this fact is that I can hardly understand how the kernels in games like Adventure and Pitfall really work. I understand that these are very advanced kernels. So I looked at Donkey Kong and River Raid. As with the other two, I understood what each function was. However, I didn't understand how it all came together.

Are there any tutorials/guides on more advanced kernels?

I'm not entirely sure. Mainly I'm just looking for progress, and I just felt a bit lost on the "where to go from here" end after Andrew Davie's tutorials.

You're more than welcome to check out my blog, where I documented the development of Medieval Mayhem, numerous versions of source are in the posts. Here's a time lapse of how it evolved over time.

There's also the Homebrew Discussion thread. Not as technical as the blog, but might have some useful info

Thanks, SpiceWare, I'll see what I can learn from it. :D
