Your argument of Nintendo having a "historic hostility toward the RPG genre" doesn't make much sense either though, considering that Nintendo created some of the best RPG series of all time, be it Fire Emblem, Mother, Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi or Golden Sun.
Nintendo is notorious among RPGers for sitting on the majority of the Mother series and not bringing it to the U.S.
Fire Emblem is only NOW starting to get US exposure after years of Nintendo intentionally keeping it behind the curtain. It's a huge series in Japan. The whole library here consists of 5 games, mostly handheld. I think other companies tried to bring Fire Emblem to the US in the past, but Nintendo denied permission.
Oh sure, they have no problem with RPGs when they feature Mario or Pokemon. I didn't say otherwise.
But this game isn't Mario, Pokemon, or even an installment in the recognizable Xeno-franchise. It's just a random RPG by Monolithsoft. Because of that, I seriously doubt that Nintendo would publish it for the English market. It doesn't fit with their image of the Wii.
If Nintendo passes it's first right of publication for other markets, then Atlus or NIS America can possibly pick it up. But considering Nintendo's history of sitting on things like Mother, I doubt it will happen. It depends on what agreements Monolithsoft has with Nintendo for publishing. I'm just saying that "NINTENDO" label as the publisher causes some concern.
The Wii needs RPGs though.
