Not sure what happened, but the text manual for The Empires Strikes Back is really really really long horizontally toward the bottom after the first map of the playfield.

That would be my guess.
IIRC, when dumped straight into an HTML document, an unconverted text file will look like that long line at the bottom because most text files don't contain hard breaks except at paragraphs.
Text in HTML must contain hard breaks at the end of each line or you get to go on long horizontal treks to read them.
Looks like, after the manual was typed- or OCRd-in, it didn't get completely converted to HTML before being placed in the AA manual page for the game.
