I intend to be in 19-bit score before this competition is done and over with.

I guess we'll find out now that RR has just crushed me ;)

I suessed the game out with 1 stick then had another bash at two sticks and did much better... I think this is a game where there is no luck involved... it's total mayhem :-o

57,775 Just opened this game today.
Welcome Zylon (and Fres)
I'm intrigued, please can we have a picture of the 'coupler' in action :?:

130,150 This game is a tough challenge... c'mon roardrunner give us some tips ;)

p.s. I'm still playing His Dark Majesty it's a truely awesome game; sort of Archon meets Ultima III battles. It's already one of my all time favourite Atari games
I'm stuck on this big battle, necromancers, zombies and serpents are causing me a bit of jip :D
The coupler doesn't come out of the box without wrecking it. It's not very solid but holds the sticks well, so you have to play with thebox flap hanging open.

It comes out of the box fine, you just have to open the end flap. My cx-40s fit nice and snug and it plays fine with the coupler on my lap. No complaints other than I suck at this game/ not enough time to play

There's a sort of pre-arrangement involved. Sometimes you can get away with level 7 and level 12 easily whereas other times you lose a few men. And then there's those humanoids that bunch up in some levels so you can get 20K+ points without much efforts whereas other levels they purposely walk into the blue robots. I play this game and get like 150K and then play again and get 300K and then back to 150K so there's some non-skill related events going on.

I'm in 19-bit land. You may need to try for 20-bit score here to win this contest.

This is my best attempt with NO joystick and 4 arrow keys; you can only fire in the direction your moving in this case which makes for a completely different(& way harder) game. I can't wait until that A800 usb stick arrives from Legacy Engineering :) :

Vote here for the bonus round which will run after the next HSC game, so don't blame me if you don't vote and end up playing some weird games... wait they're probably all going to be weird games :ponder: and here, for last regular HSC game before the bonus round starts.

Both votes close early on Sunday :)

You can actually use more keys to fire in other directions-- just set up 2nd joystick with different keys from your motion keys. That's how I have been playing recently to get over 100K-- it's still restricted as switching firing direction and directions isn't independent on my keyboard.

Congrats roadrunner! :) :jango:  :ahoy: :pirate: 8)

It was a hard fought victory, but the roadrunner might of lost if _Fandal_ or Mr. A posted a score. ;)
Well played everyone. :)

Well played everyone. :)

Have you seen their scores of Robotron 2084 in some previous contest (or previous life) or just a guess?

Perhaps, people who are ambidextrous can better deal with two joysticks at the same time.
