just wondering how much i could get for an unopened copy of alien brigade for the 7800.

i just got it on ebay but i thought it was just the cartridge, but i came today in the box even with the original plastic wrapping still on it.

any estimation of rarity or worht would be most helpful.

Is it PAL or NTSC? PAL is worth significantly less.

Surprise! I bet you got a PAL version!

And Cebus is right, a new in the box PAL AB is worth about $10. $15 shipped as per this BIN:

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 270591088752

IF it's NTSC, probably looking at a $40-$60 package there. And as one of the better 7800 light gun titles ever made, open her up, grab your gun and start blastin'!

If I remember correctly, a 7800 PAL game simply will not work on an NTSC console. US games and consoles use an encryption algorithm which is not present on PAL systems. If a PAL game is put into an NTSC console, the console checks the encryption and if absent...does not work.

A 2600 PAL game will work, but with wrong colors and will probably roll on an older TV. Newer TVs will probably automatically correct and it won't roll.

Nope and that wouldn't work anyway on a 7800 as the game never even boots. I had a sneaking suspicion you had a PAL cart :( Do a search here though... there's a guy that can take your cart and insert an NTSC board in it without destroying the label (Shawn Sr. or CPUWIZ?) I forget... at least you have the manual and box for Alien Brigade now :)

Haha, I made the same mistake, too, buying a sealed Alien Brigade then not realizing it was PAL until I received it. NIB PAL versions don't seem to be in demand, either. I'm trying to get rid of mine for $8 in the marketplace and no one's biting! Factory sealed, too! Oh well, you win some and you lose some. :lolblue:

Edit: I forgot to note, apparently some users here can convert the cart for you. They will most-likely charge you somewhere between $10 and $15 to do it.
