I hate that the power up's keep moving real fast around the screen.
And when i finally get the power up i like, i have to avoid picking up the other power up's.

I like this one, but I have to admit that I enjoyed the GameGear version much more. This one seems 3 times harder but is much better graphically.

I didn't know about the GameGear version. I tryed it out and it's alot easier to pick up the power up's.

it is frustrating indeed
undesirable power ups become worse than bullets to dodge and they seem to almost move towards you when not wanted! it is also annoyance when the face icon is close to a power up and I have to just avoid it to risk collecting something I do not want…

I didn't know about the face icon bonus. I'll have to give it a few more go's and see what i can do.

Actually, you posted that while I was typing my post I've had a slight improvement in the real game. 80,350 (with 7800 stick)
