I agree that Dragons Lair is everywhere but I'm a sucker and I'll probably get this collection.

So it's got a watch mode. As opposed to the actual game, which was more of a "watch and occasionally jiggle the joystick" mode.
I got a free copy of Dragon's Lair, or maybe it was just a dollar, a while ago for my iPod Touch. It was actually worse than I remembered... sometimes onscreen cues won't appear to warn you of impending doom until it's too late to act, particularly in the glowing floor tiles scene where rote memorization is your only hope of survival. So not only is it just a movie with occasional input from the player, but the input doesn't even correspond to the onscreen footage!

Yeah some versions are bad. The Blu-Ray and DVD enhanced versions are really good and accurate. I remember playing it on the Sega CD ages ago!

I had the Blue Ray version of Dragons Lair booted up a couple days ago on my PS3. Just watched the commentaries and played the "Watch" mode. Great to look at, not really all that fun to play. I love the remastered HD. Looks even greater now!
I wonder how nice the Wii versions look. At $29.99 it's a steal so I'll probably wind up getting it. The Blu version of Space Ace by itself is 36.49 on Amazon.

I'd like to ask when you got Dragon's Lair for iPod because it didn't work in the new iOS4 until about two days ago and that might be why you ran into trouble. I bought it several months ago and really enjoy it on my iPod Touch. But when I upgraded to iOS4 it suddenly lost the onscreen controls making it usel;ess to play. I saw several posts on iTunes mentioning it is completely broken now. They just sent out an update this week that fixes it.

Yeah, I'm playing the sega-cd version these days and it's actually one of the best i experienced so far.
Looking forward to the Wii version: I never played DLII!
Cheers!

This might be a great release but I'll wait and see what the finished product looks like..... Destineer is not known for releasing the highest of quality games (John Deere, Iron Chef, Homie Rollerz, Marine: Modern Urban Combat) for the Wii.

So sad. Maybe it's worth paying the extra $$$ for 1080p HD then. There's no denying the Blu versions kick ass visually, and as I've already stated, the main thing fueling the purchase for me would be the visuals, not the game play.

Why do you think they're releasing this?

According to the other trash listed here, it seems Dragons Lair absolutely fits into their lineup

God, I at least hope that the motion controls if they have any aren't grafted on cheaply.

Am I the only person who thinks Dragon's Lair would be fun to play with the DDR pad?

Nice question if I may reply. I personally have no clue and I agree with some comments outside of Atariage. "Why another Dragons Lair release".
One reason why they can't screw this up for me:
- It's a video, how can they screw up a video? The watch mode which I'll be doing most of the time takes care of gameplay issues I may be concerned with. Yeah I'm a nerd.
Two reasons why they would screw this up for me:
- The video quality looks like a sega CD.
- Their track record. I know who they are.
For 30 bucks though its a nice deal for all three and I dont think its that hard to screw this up. But I've seen it happen, so we'll see.
They are not all bad though, there's far worse.
