I hate to say goodbye to OpcodeGames. I hope he can continue doing the conversions I long for.

MODERATOR NOTE: Please put this in the correct forum group if necessary.

Absolutely. I sure hope when things have cooled down a bit, opcode will continue doing his great work :)

I too hope Eduardo will reconsider his position. He has done really great work these last few years.

Can I ask, what´s this all about? Why opcode is leaving?

Let him do as he pleases. He's not indebted to any of us. He does do great work, but I'm not eager to chain the man to a grindstone if he's not enjoying his work.

Exactly, if he can no longer do it for the love of it then so be it.

Also, I'm pretty sure opcode isn't the first CV homebrewer, and likely won't be the last.

CV homebrew scene started in the 90s, you bet he's not the first CV homebrewer. If we use 5 years as a generation in video games, and start with Kevtris release, then I'm part of the first generation (1996-2000), most of the CV homebrewers are from the second generation (2001-2005), we are currently seeing the end of the third generation (2006-2010) and the begginning of the fourth generation with even more possibilities and tools than before, giving the potential to go over what the machine can do normally.

And you bet he's not the last one either. I'm getting messages year after year of people who want to give it a try, want to make new games for the ColecoVision. Last week, I've got a message of someone not being able to install and use my devkit, and I've decided to make a video about how easy it should be. I don't get much news about what these people do after getting started, it's up to them to decide what they want to do with their CV projects.

And he didn't left the scene, he's just making things in his way away from the attention of everyone.

There is an entire univers of CV programmers, each one is different, putting their own vision into Colecovision scene. They only need a chance to be discovered by you.
