This now sounds exactly like the Pacman I used to play back in the 80's. I even threw in a few graphical enhancements to add authenticity.

Enjoy! ;)

Nice.. I like it. This is like the evil twin of Nukey's 8k Pacman hack. :D

I didn't have anything better to work on so I decided to throw this together. Thought it would be funny to combine the excellent 7800 graphics with the horrid 2600 sound effects. I threw in a couple of the 2600 graphical quirks for fun. :)

Pretty good. But use arcade sounds!

Huh? These sound effects are perfectly re-created from the 2600 version, which is universally considered to be the best Pac-man port ever created. ;)

Fun stuff. So that's what the 2600 version would like like in higher resolution... lol The eyes were a nice effect, although a little too realistic...

I hope your kidding. :)

If your serious, you could order a custom 7800 cart from the AA store. It's a standard 32k rom. You would need to provide your own label. I never made one for myself.

Anyone have some screenshots? I'm curious what the 2600 style graphical "enhancements" look like!

It was mostly an animation change so it wont show up in a screen shot.
1) The monster/ghost eyes rotate around in a cicle regardless of what direction they are heading.
2) Pac only faces left or right, even when going up/down
3) Pac's mouth is always chomping, even when stationary
4) Pac has a dot for an eye.

If you havn't tried it in emulation you really should. I ripped the sound code directly from the 2600 rom so it sounds exactly like the 2600 version.
