According to THIS STORY and several other news sites, there is a major bug in Metroid that currently has no fix. I'm not that far into the game yet, but am curious if anyone else has run into it?

I ran into this lovely little bug about three weeks ago, and haven't advanced in the game since then. I only found out about it thanks to this post. I'm a Club Nintendo member, I have registered my copy of M:OM, you'd think they'd have sent me an e-mail about it instead of me having wasted countless hours trying to solve an unsolvable puzzle.

Even before this, I thought M:OM was a pretty sad excuse for a Metroid game - it really feels like one of those crappy old Sega CD "interactive movie" games where you're just place holding between chapters of the movie with some very linear gameplay. The whole essence of Metroid has always been immersion into a huge, alien world, and this game completely misses that mark. There's virtually no exploration, and a big part of what they do have is pointing the wiimote at the screen and praying you scan the right pixel.

This was the first game I've preordered since... I think Soul Calibur 2, and I was soooooooo disappointed. The last game I got on release day was, believe it or not, Metroid Prime 3.

From reading the reviews about this game on Amazon.com, one would think the main serious "bug" is the cutscenes actually making Samus Aran a human character, as if most Metroid fans would want her to be tough as nails and larger than life.

I would like that, yes. Just because she is a woman under the armor doesn't mean she needs to cry and emote all over the place. Why can't she be a hardass? She's freakin' Boba Fett with a va-jay-jay!

Wow, Stan, that may be the best summary of the Metroid series I've ever read. :D

And Other M destroys it all.
