I don't like any of these games. Someday, can we have a Ballblazer competition? We can start playing against the computer at Droid 1 and if you win, you go to Droid 2 - and so on. Time should be set at 3:00.

You take a screenshot, showing the final score at the highest level you got to. If multiple people win on the final level, place will be determined by the time that you won. (higher time gets higher place)

Of course, it's possible for cheaters (I'm looking at you, bountybob! just kidding :D) to set the time above 3:00, but we'll just have to rely on honesty. (yeah, right)

What do you think?
I think it's a terrible idea, possibly the worst in the illustrious history of the High Score Club, why do you even bother posting here... nah ;) it's a cool game though I've only got a dodgy old copy of the BallBlaster? version. Does the one you have have opponents with different skill levels or was droid 2 just a second play?

p.s. by some miracle you are still in the top 10 :P

As the vote is tied if someone wants to make a casting vote before I've updated the tables for Ixion and the current standings, otherwise as I voted for River Rat I'll pick one of them... time starts NOW!

[edit] Too late it's decided...

No point in voting for Gorf now whoever that was :D

(why, you son of a...) No, Droid 2 is not just a second play. Theoretically, it's supposed to be a more difficult opponent (I think it's just the same player, but slightly less spastic). I've actually only played Droid 1 & 2 in Ballblazer, but in the Amiga version - MegaBlazer - each Droid is harder than the last, and Droid 7 is a real bastard to beat. I assume Droid 7 in the Atari version is equally... bastardidious.

That's no miracle. I'm there because of my incredible skill and impressive abilities. (...and because I wasted my valuable time playing that "Best of BASIC" crap)

Some of the BASIC stuff that doesn't require fast moving stuff or DLIs is pretty good. I remember playing Othello that was written in BASIC and it plays just fine. Hey maybe some of those Windows games like Solitair, Minesweeper, etc. were written in Microsoft Word BASIC.

You may be in top 10 because you hacked into the moderator's account and modified the points.

There are a number of good games in the PAGE 6 collection... Try Munchy Madness, it's a challenging game and fun

I'll tell briky, he'll be over, you need a new wall, he likes walls. My new game is Turbo basic so I don't think you could possibly mean that

If you had hacked in you would have put yourself up the table a bit me thinks...

ok ballblasterblazer is a good idea but probably too hard for a few players (no not me, why you...) so will think how we could do this... any others you like :?:

you have "skill and impressive abilities" eh?, sounds like you're going to have to play in the bonus round for us to find out... we have new players that are fired up and ready to kick some pixel's butts (that's you guys) :-D

Well, if he put himself on top, the regular players would get suspicious that he's on top without playing. Hey, Fandal is still beating him and he only plays if he can flip the scoreboard.

wow! I despise all of these games :(

voted for Gorf because it was an OS-B only game which will give me an excuse to fire up the 800.

-Steve
Pretty sure I have a copy that works ok on my XE but the 800 is still cool to use :)

Let's have some suggestions from you either here for the bonus round or here on the games list :D

I like deteacher's idea might add a puzzle and pinball game to the list :ponder:

Okay, I voted for Gorf as well because it may use Paddles? I would like to try out some Paddle-based game.
Don't think it uses paddles, checkout paddles games topic I posted!

I remember playing a game called Chisler that was a type-in game from some magazine and it may have been a paddle game. So let's go for that-- it's like Breakout.

C'mon guys lets have some more suggestions

Orpha and Fres to save me some time please can you list what type of game each is so I can mix up the game types for each voting option. Thanks :)

I've been trying out loads of games in my collection that I couldn't remember; boy there's some bad ones, but others have been fun, made a starter list for next season's HSC too! I'm Atari'd out for one day

In the next week I'll put together a list of Page6 games and categories that I think might be cool to play

Looks very promising, the survey shows that so far we just need that one person (who was it?!) to beg, borrow, steal, find, make, or even buy a set and we'll be cooking. Saying that games like Clowns and Balloons and Spy's Demise support Joystick too so they would be ok :)

Munchy Madness from issue 24 - Boulderdash Clone - Get the hearts and don't get squished by rocks - oh and beat the clock too. Has some garish colors but is fun to play (one of my favorites after I typed it in)

Snakes Alive from issue 41 - um, scratch this one - it SUXORS

Dilemma from issue 45 - Fun puzzle game, but to sedentary for HSC

Hot Blocks from issue 46 - Tetris Clone (not a very good one)

Radzone from issue 51 - Puzzle game (another slow one)

Turboflex from issue 55 - Weird Jeff Minter Puzzle game (I'm fearing failure at this point)

Dangerous Dungeons from issue 63 - And apparently the menu doesn't work on NTSC machines, can only run on Pal/emu and that's just not worth it with this slow basic game

Pipes from issue 64 - Ugh

So in conclusion scrap THAT idea (although I Still like munchy madness)

I'm going to boot a bunch of the b sides, they offered a ton of bonus games, let me see what I come across
