HERE'S MY NEW BEST TIME FOR 199,000 POINTS: 11min18sec!

Now, I will play again for the variation called "Minimalist Speed Run" for statistics. For this variation, I will collect minimum itens: 1 Rhonda, 1 gold bar, 1 diamond, and 1 Quickclaw. This time I will use the shortcuts.

Way to go!

Are you playing on an emulator?

I've done it in under 10 minutes, just never on tape. Keep it up! As for a minimalist run, I've never timed myself but I have done it.

Yes, I am playing on Stella Emulator - Version 3.1.2
To play Pitfall II via Fastest Completion Perfect Game / Minimalist Speed Run (Non-Perfect Game), I had to use my stopwatch.

Maybe that's something that needs to be added into the next stella build... a timer.

I used my Harmony Cart for my score. I have a Pitfall II cart, but it was taking 5-10 inserts/blowing/cleaning to get it to boot. Harmony cart was easier to deal with.

Busy weekend (just got home). Don't know that I have a perfect game in me, but this is the +2 at least.

And Kudos to all the 199ers.

OK, I made it a little better; hit two times and one fall that cost me a hundred (how mad would I be if I got 198,900??) and got it to: 192,563. Morgan

One mistake (yeah, it was a long one.)

I've had all the parts, but haven't put it all together. I'm not sure I have the patience for perfection. Posted Image

Oh gods, I thought I got a perfect score-- didn't fall or get knocked back once-- but evidently I missed a few treasures! :( No way I'm going to do it again. Posted Image

Just kissed current 2nd placing bye bye, Tagged a scorpion near the girl rescue spot.
luckly only caust around 500 points, but would have had 198,800 if it wasn't for that. :P
It wasn't even my doing... i was running right and Harry re-grabbed the ladder.. and got tagged, it was the "uber-sensative" directional pads fault!

I'm happy with this score, 198,264

Did you remember to get the mouse in the screen just to the right of Quickclaw? He's worth 15K I think! You can only capture the mouse from behind to get the points.

No, I didn't! I'm not even sure I knew you could, but it's been so many years since I've finished the game, I may have known it but forgot. (When I play, I always reset as soon as I fall or get hit, because I want to get a perfect score! You wouldn't believe how many times I played Pitfall2 this past week, even though I posted only 1 screenshot.)
