I went out to Star Worlds Arcade yesterday with the nephews to play some games. They have a Crazy Kong and a Donkey King Jr. there and I had a great time playing them. This is the first time that I have played both and the first time that I have heard of Donkey King Jr. It is the same as Donkey Kong Jr. but the maze order is different and the difficulty is turned up a little bit. I know that a lot of you play MAME; is Donkey King Jr. available in MAME? If so, you guys need to check it out (or head out to Star Worlds in DeKalb, IL). We were there for over 6 hours and if I gave the boys some more money we would have stayed much longer.

Interesting...I've played Crazy Kong and I actually like it more than Donkey Kong.

who made Donkey King Jr? I've never heard of it. Is it possible that it is a knock off?

I'm not sure who made Donkey King Jr.. Pat, the owner, said that he is pretty sure that it is a knock-off. It is in a Taito mini cabinet and he got it from a local person.

Donkey King Jr isn't in MAME yet (it might be soon, I have a board and someone else just got one that might be dumping the ROM's). I don't think it's harder than regular DK Jr though, other than getting all 4 boards on the 1st 2 levels. The difficulty on those boards doesn't ramp up as quickly (for example, the 2nd level vine board is easier than on regular DK Jr, not as many red snapjaws appear)
