All right, it's about time we finally hit one of the most highly-regarded Jaguar games--Tempest 2000!! The king of arcade remakes is BACK.. Are you ready to compete??
The competition officially started on Sunday, October 10th, 2010, and the final time to get your scores in will be on Sunday, October 24th, 2010.
RULES/DIRECTIONS:
Start a normal game in Tempest 2000 mode, start from the very first web. Play as long as you can and submit your score when you either give up or GAME OVER (preferrably this). Use whatever control style is comfortable for you (pad, custom rotary, etc).
If you are not familiar with the new Jaguar HSC general rules and how the scoring system works, please visit this thread here: http://www.atariage....pdated-7242010/
It is recommended that you take a photo of your score, but it is not required. We go on good faith here, so please be honest..
Some tips/notes to keep in mind before you get started!
- Perfect the webs to score yourself some bonus icons.. Remember, racking up the bonus icons will eventually take you to bonus levels (and level warps upon successfully completing them)
- Jumping is your friend. Seriously. After a dozen stages or two, if you don't use the jump power-up almost exclusively, YOU WILL DIE. Period.
- Each enemy has a specific pattern, particularly ones that are introduced later in the game. Play based around their patterns, or you will probably die.
