I just read a news story that starting today, you can download Netflix from the Nintendo store so that you will no longer need a disk to stream movies. I'm not home at the moment to check if its available right this moment or if it will be available when Nintendo updates the store later today.

The news story is RIGHT HERE.

Very nice. I would love it if this feature were brought over to the PS3, which I use for most of my streaming.

I just DLed it onto my Wii this morning and watched the rest of Tin Man with it. I'm glad I don't have to rely on a disk anymore in order to watch Netflix. The interface is also somewhat better.

Somewhat better? It's SWEEEET! They added lots of new stuff as well, totally slick. Netflix was on my 2nd page of channels and I wanted it on the first, had to Google for how to move it, here is how in case anyone else needs to know. I just wish my Wii was not having trouble reading discs. :(

1. Turn on your Nintendo Wii and go to the menu

2. Find the channel that you want to move

3. Point at the channel you want to move and hold A + B

4. While holding down A + B drag the channel to where ever you want to put it.

5. If you want to move it to a different page while holding down A + B, hover the channel over the + or - button on the sides of the screen. This will take you to the next/previous page.

I have both the PS3 and Wii discs. I wonder if they'll become collectors items in the future? :)

It was very nice to come home to that today!

So long as we're granting wishes, I have another request involving Jewel Staite...

This is pretty great; I was surprised at how small the download is.

AWESOME! I've been wanting to put Megaman 9 and 10 next to each other for months, thanks so much for this tidbit!!

I think so. I have the disc and the original sleeve it came in.

I also like how you can now search without having to get on the website. It seemed like a strange thing to omit.

In my humble opinion, is the quality of the streaming better with this download?? The picture appears brighter, and the colors not as washed out. I've been watching "Kolchak-The NightStalker" and thought the quality was kind of poor with the disc. With the download, it just seems better.

Am I dreaming?

They probably had time to tweak it up a little bit. Which is great considering they could have gone the lazy route and just do a rerelease with no improvements.

I love the fact that netflix on Wii and PS3 has a search function, the 360 version doesn't have that feature yet, from what i understand is that its coming to 360 in November.

I told my friend about being able to download netflix on the Wii (they was using the disk to use netflix), he didn't believe me at first until i showed him this topic and went to the shop.
