Mattel Aquarius Serial Number Database

Recommended Posts

I have built a user contributed Aquarius serial number database over on my website as a tool for the Aqaurius community to track production quantities and locations of surviving units.

Please add your units using the form at the bottom of the Serial Number list.

Cool! I'll try and get my stuff entered tonight or tomorrow. icon_thumbsup.gif

typo's

The list is already on the website, I have reviewed them and Yes I did made some typo's

Serial number RH0500246 should be a Matrix printer (brand: Manta)

Serial number RH0505389 should be a Data recorder.

Can you modify them Eric?

I'll jump in and fix them.

EDIT: done.

Martin, I forgot about your Manta printers. That's still something I'd like to get. I decided a long time ago I don't need to collect any of the rebranded Aquarius items, but that Manta is special, because it's all decked out in black.

A great item in your collection.

I'm already seeing some interesting patterns... correct me if I am wrong, but it seems the Mattel Aquarius equipment was produced in two runs... RH01 and RH02... and the Radofin Aquarius production run jumped to RH05.

Not to mention the fact that there seems to be more units produced than originally surmised, judging by the disparity between the serial numbers entered thus far.

I just dropped my bucket of ser #'s.

I was always curious where in production they jumped to the S2 ROM. I included that info in the numbers I provided.

Another change, during the Mattel run, was the switch from a wall wart power supply, to the style more like a modern laptop adapter. I forgot to include that info in the comments.

Well so far we have that narrowed down to between RH0185150 and RH0189458. As the list grows we should be able to pin it down better.

Thanks for posting them! Seeing the list, I see an extra space in two of my Mattel Aquarius ser numbers have screwed up the ordering. They are at the bottom of the list, but shouldn't be. Could you please fix my blunders, when you have a chance?

Thanks.

Edit: Looks like you beat me to it!

Thank you.

I just added mine:

1.) Aquarius computer (Mattel): RH0219773

There is also an additional sticker on the bottom with "1523RH" printed on it. Not sure what that means (probably nothing?). This unit is working and complete in box, and was sold in a "Computer & Game System" package.

2.) Mini-Expander (Mattel): RH0176825

This one also has an extra sticker on the bottom, with "2363RH" printed on it. This one is working and is boxed and mostly complete, less the manual and any brochures/ads/catalogs that may have been packed with it. This came in the same "Computer & Game System" package as the Aquarius system listed above.

That's all I've got for now, as far as hardware goes.

:)

I'm happy to see that I am not the only one making the typo's.

Perhaps you could create some kind of login account so everybody can review their own additions and modify them.

Or maybe you could do something like the Linux Counter (counter.li.org). If you register to this website you will receive a GIF image with the Linux penguin and your registration number :)

Hmmm... that's not too hard for me to implement, it would just require having a password associated to their username and creating a quick login script. Unfortunately, 1/2 of the people submitting serial numbers did not supply an email address that I can send temporary passwords to, so they wouldn't be able to edit theirs.

If I do it, I would have to make any edits require moderator approval just like the posts do... just to prevent spamming using the forms... don't want to see viagra laden mini-expanders popping up on the site :D

If you want to add a graphical link to the Serial Number Database from your own website for easy access and reference, you can use the following...

<a href="http://www.geekvintage.com/mattel-aquarius-serial-number-db.php">
<img src="http://www.geekvintage.com/images/mattel-aquarius-serial-number-db.jpg" border="0" width="200" height="100" alt="Aquarius Serial Number DB" title="Aquarius Serial Number DB">
</a>
