Final-ish thoughts on GoldenEye, now that I've played most of the way through the campaign and put in about 10 hours of online multiplayer:
-The game is dark. As in, I can't see WTF is going on sometimes. It isn't a big deal, but an occasional annoyance.
-The graphics aren't that great IMO. Most of the overall design is pretty good, and the character models are nice, but I'm not impressed. The Conduit, not to mention Metroid Prime 3, blows GoldenEye away graphically.
-The controls are great - I wish you could remap individual buttons, but it isn't a big deal, the presets are pretty good.
-Level design (in campaign) is very good, lots of alternate routes and possibilities for taking different approaches. There is lots of variety as well, some levels invite lots of stealthy sneaking and some are straight-ahead gunfights from the get-go. Most levels have a bit of both.
-The online multiplayer is pretty fun; I still haven't run into any hackers in a match (though they're all over the leaderboards). I have run into technical issues a bunch - lag is not uncommon, and if the host quits everybody else gets kicked back to the lobby, which sucks. And the game completely froze once - had to unplug the Wii.

But overall it's a lot of fun; I've been spending most of my time playing Black Box and GoldenEye. I do miss the 12-player matches from The Conduit though...
-The quick-time cut-scenes are pretty stupid, but not a big deal. The game overall is wonderfully cinematic.
I give it
