Hey everyone, I hope it's OK to post this in the Homebrew forum, as it's not technically for a classic system.

Anyway, I'm working on a flash game inspired by MSX/Coleco/SG-1000 games like H.E.R.O. and Montezuma's Revenge, and by my calculations technically doable on real hardware.
Currently I have a 1 level test version of the game working. See it here: Sydney Hunter and the Caverns of DEATH

Anyway, I'm looking for feedback, and I'm posting here because I respect the opinions of the people here.
Give it a try and let me know what you think. I'm looking for feedback on all fronts: gameplay, level design, art, game title, diffuculty, bugs, ect.
The current demo is designed to be a middle of the game level, and as such might seem a little difficult in the beginning.

Comments appreciated.

Pretty cool game, it's a shame it isn't actual MSX software!

The art is awesome, I enjoyed everything I saw. I can't say much about the gameplay yet, but I'll try to once I have the time to play some more. I'm pretty sure that the boomerang will need some getting used to, though... I was a bit frustrated with the amount of time he holds the boomerang up before throwing.

Thanks for the input. Rewriting the boomerang code is already on my to-do list, but that gives me some perspective I hadn't thought much about.

Great game. Everything so far is top notch and I'm enjoying it a lot. No negative comments at all. Keep it up!

Awesome game. Let us know when the other levels ready. BTW, how many levels you planning to do? Well, here some sugestions, I think the player could gave some points for hitting the skull (5 points for example). I aslo like to know if: the distance for boomerang and the fireball max. high are proposal random or not?

I'll probably end up making 15 to 20 levels (some shorter, and a few longer). Point adjustment is still on my to do (everything is only worth 10 pts right now) And I don't quite understand what you're asking with the last question, but fireballs will probably stay the same throughout, unless I find a reason to change it. and the boomerang is a little inconsistent at the moment, but is being worked on.

Newer demo is online. This version has a new level (sort of a final level), a second music track, and a between round cutscene.
Same link from the first post.
