Currently I'm working on creating some chiptunes.. I'm not a musical genius, so this is going rather slow. I asked a good friend of mine, who happens to be more of a musician, to help me out and he said he'll definitely will. However, working in ProTracker as far as I see can be quite a drag and I hope he doesn't get tired of it too fast.

After the tunes are ready, there'll be a demo released for some good beta-testing

I know a few Protracker musicians, would it be any help if I asked around if any of them would like to collaborate with you on this? I also know a great pixel artist who specialises 12bit 16 colour low-resolution images if you'd like to outsource the graphics or form a team to get the game finished. I understand if you'd rather tackle the whole lot on your own though.

Thanks for offering help. I'm a graphic designer myself, and the graphics are not an issue at all. But the music.. I'll have to wait to see what my friend is capable of before asking others.. but if thats not working out I'll definitely let you know

I think the point is not only the protracker mod, but the importing into chipper... as the chipper tracker part sux terrible.

but yes, help on graphix and tracks is always welcome.

Maybe I'm a bit too easy with the chiptune part.. but I found that importing a MOD to chipper and create the instruments quite enjoyable in the end and the results are good as well. Better than I expected to achieve.

Why would anyone even think of it being cancelled seeing howregularely Ninjabba posts in this thread?
Dude, you always have to think positive... an never think of cancellation until it gets really quiet about a game.^^

Yes, I'll definitely want some help for the next project ;) I feel like a 1-man pyramid builder at the moment, but I was stubborn back then and the project advanced too much to outsource graphics at this point.

I'm also considering another name still, just to make sure there's no stupid copyright infringement. I've been reading a bit too much about small developers getting attacked the last year. Pity though.. back then it sounded perfect.

I highly recommend if possible, that you copyright whatever name you end up with. We copyright all our game names, though I have no clue how much that costs.

Who exactly is the "we" you are referring to? You mentioned loving the PCE, but not what you have done so far. :)

About copyrights... I remember that our game cost us about 500 USD before release, and probably additional fees after release. A lot of cash for a Lynx game that will probably sell around 150 copies or so.

About names, I liked he suggestion of Dragon's Aga. But there is more:

Dragon Sage
The Old Scrolls
Fire Breath
Diabolus
Tales of Dragons
Draco Trigger
Legend of Dragon
Drac the Lad
Shining Dragon
Dragon Emblem
Dragon Profile
Dragon's Souls
Dragaea
Grandracia
Dragon Questing
Shin Draconi Tensei

I think all of those would be perfectly safe to use. :P

Just be careful not to call it Dragon Edge. There is that guy who founded a games company called Edge, never released a hit, but he sues everyone who uses the word "edge" in a game title. He always loses the trials though, so maybe you SHOULD actually call it Dragon Edge so he sues you, loses, and has to pay you money. :)

Dracon
Legend of the Dragon
Shining Dracon
Draco Blitz
Scrolls of the Fire
Quest for the Dragon's Secret
Tales of Flares
Search for the Legendary Dragons
Sha Draconis Fistan
Gra Draco Scro Qust

U like? All are perfectly usable too.

Off topic, but we are Frozen Utopia. I mainly do music & voice acting. We're releasing Mysterious Song, a turn based RPG(we're hoping to have the game in all it's packaged glory at Midwest Gaming Classic) for the PCE, along with many other games in the pipline, but Jungle Bros. should be our 2nd release(platformer) hopefully by the end of the year, but I still have alot of songs to work on for that one. Also, our programmer has a sister group called Eponasoft, & they too are working on PCE games, with Monolith(action RPG) being the first release sometime this year. You can find us here frozenutopia.com & eponasoft.com

Anyways, names....:

Panzer Dragon
Tatsu Densetsu
Drake Saga
Dragon's Breath
Drake's Fantasy
Knights of the Wyvern
Draconian Shadow's
Paranoia Dragon Saga :D

Hi Ninjabba, I was wondering if you have visited the forums at Pixel Joint or Pixelation? They are the best forums to post your pixel art on so you can get critique and advice, or you could simply browse the galleries and threads learning more about pixel art and how best to work with a limited palette. With the help of the fantastic artists on those forums you could vastly improve the graphics and palettes you've already got in your game, and you'll learn some techniques and tricks which will be very handy if you continue to design your own game graphics for future projects.
