Sound out if you own one of these consoles full of vector-y goodness! I currently own three including the complete commercial library... missing only the promotional Mr Boston cartridge and the bug fix Minestorm II.

I have built a user contributed Vectrex serial number database over on my website as a tool for the Vectrex community to track production quantities and locations of surviving units.

Please add your units using the form at the bottom of the Serial Number list.

I know there are more Vectrex owners here on AtariAge. Besides the Vectrex Serial Number DB, I am also thinking of a "Stand up and be Counted" app that will allow people to list the games in their collection on their own websites. The numbers would aggregate on my site so that people can see how many collectors have each game. Do you think this would be cool or not? If it gets good response, I may expand it to all systems.

If anyone wants to add a graphical link to the Serial Number Database from your own website for easy access and reference, you can use the following code...

<a href="http://www.geekvintage.com/gce-vectrex-serial-number-db.php">
<img src="http://www.geekvintage.com/images/gce-vectrex-serial-number-db.jpg" border="0" width="200" height="100" alt="Vectrex Serial Number DB" title="Vectrex Serial Number DB">
</a>

That's the one I have added the details of my 8 Vectrex to. Its also the one I recommend on my website.
It has a few more parameters, which are useful to know, and which might help to make conclusions about the different production types once there is enough data present.

That other list does not show geographical locations of the surviving Vectrex units. What other options would make mine more useable? I'd hate to think it was just a wasted effort. :|

Vectrex owner here! I have two in working order - serial # 101681 A is my main system, and serial # 0124542 is my spare/back up.

I also have two original controllers, one of Recycled Gamer's homebrew lightpens, a modified Playstation arcade stick from John Dondzila, and Sean Kelley's v2.0 Multicart from 2000. No original games, but I do have 4 overlays - Star Trek, Star Hawk, Armor..Attack, and Space War.

Long live the Vectrex!

Hi,

with the help of a programmer i was able to create a Macintosh Serial Number Decoder, you can read out the date of production, manufacture, model ID and more from a Mac serial number. All informations are stored in a number and letter code.

But what about the Vectrex Serial Number? Is there some information that can be read out of the number, like production date, manufacture (USA, UK, Japan?) and the specific model ID ? Does anyone knows something about a hidden code in the Serial or is it just from 00000001 to 01234355 ?

Please have a look to my new project at http://vectrexmuseum...bile/vecapp.php

The first mobile Vectrex Locator App for mobile devices!

I have no clue what my serial number is. Maybe I'll remember to look at it this weekend.

Probably about time I dug the machine out anyway. It's been almost two years since I moved and I haven't set up a place to play the Vectrex yet.

I recently bought a small corner table to put mine on, and it's been working out really well.
