Is this the same as the version on the recent abbuc disk #101

I don't know what exactly was released on abbuc disk. However, different beta-versions were released on Forum Atarum, where author informed about game development progress. Pawel told me that version 6 (v6) could be published as final version.

Is this available somewhere?

Yes, it is:

On Polish web sites search for "tutaj", this brings you to the download.

Nope. "Tutaj" means "here". "Pobierz", "Pobieranie" or other variations means "download" ;D

Ok, then I have to correct: at Kaz´s site it is most the "tutaj" thing (and many others I found).

Muchos gracias. You rule. But I'm sure you're well aware of that already. :)

Have yet to download it, is there a two player mode? or is that too much to ask for from the a8?

oops, should have looked at the top screenshot, clearly shows a two player option... move along, nothing to see here~!

I also saw someone porting over Super Mario Bros., but I don't believe it was ever intended to be finished as it was more of a proof of concept. To have that completed (but perhaps with alternative stages) would be the cat's meow! ;)

Not to downplay the significance of this clone...

...this is just BAD ASS all the way!

This version is much better than the demo (from the abbuc disk ), fantastic music makes a big difference  Another great game for 2010, this year is setting some sort of modern day record for quality Atari 8-bit releases  (and Gwobby :D )

I found a couple of bugs and have a few constructive comments, hope these are helpful ;)

(Played on 130XE 1050 Mydos/mypicodos PAL)

On one go the screen went blank apart from a Ghostly Mario, the game played on in the background and then returned to the menu! [Edit played on medium, after level 5 the squarish red outline of a character appeared and scrolled across a black screen, level 10 screen worked ok.]

The game needs a delay adding between pressing fire on the menu and starting a new go, it's too easy to skip the game options screen by accident.

I found the Low mode way to easy, and retired after a much too long play, also tried Medium and think this may also be a bit too easy but will play again soon. Fast seemed maybe a bit too hard but managed to get to level 4. I'd suggest make Medium a tad harder and default to this level?! [Edit played again on Medium played through to level 11 may be difficulty is ok, but takes ages to play!]

If possbile it would be nice if there was a simple sound effect when you completed a line of pieces. Definitely need sound effects when you choose the 'Music Off' option.

Also the 'flash' between levels is noticable. And what about a pause key ;)

  • 3 weeks later...
With the MultiJoy interface, you could have 4-player mode on any Atari 8 bit computer.

Thanks, but my 5200 already has four joystick ports! Cool to see the new hardware being made for the computers, though.

I'm not sure if one of Nintendo's later systems ever had a Dr. Mario remake with options for more than two players in competition with each other.

Would this game even be able to run on a 5200? And can someone make a video clip of this game in two-player mode?
