[Hitachi]

Hey all. I know i just posted a topic about MK2 but i wanted to start fresh and tell everyone here how much i enjoy the cab i ended up getting.
I got BAD dudes vs. Dragon ninja. It's really fun. SO fun, that I am already in the process of getting another cab.
Either NARC or Guerilla War. If i can fit the Narc into my basement, that's what i'm going for. If not, hopefully the GW. The person that designed my house wasn't thinking when they built the stairwell.

So, i would like to become a part of the arcade owner's club. If there isn't one here. We should make one.
And, if the mods or anyone else find my post extra or unneccesary, please delete it.

I too suffer from a bad stairway down to my basement. Anything more than 29" wide will NOT fit. Most classic stuff and pinball are fine but no Cruis'n or other modern games. I found a MINT quartet by my house but it was 30"...grrrrr...

Very cool. I think I'm going to try and get guerrilla war. I like the rotary joystick set up.

Yeah, the main reason I picked up the Ikari 3 (besides the excellent deal I got) was so I could run all the rotary stick game PCB's in it. Of course I forgot that Ikari Warriors 3 is like the ONLY rotary game with horizontal monitor orientation so I can't play any other games in it except for Midnight Resistance which isn't getting me very excited. I debated turning the monitor vertically but this is a nice dedicated machine so I think I'm going to just leave it alone, not to mention it's a ton of work. Only paid $125 delivered to my garage so since I have the space I'll keep it. It's definetily the weakest Ikari game of the series though I missed out on a nice Guerilla War last summer for $90 and it was in great shape. I had absolutely no way to get it home and someone beat me to it...D'oh! I know where another one is right now (non working) so I will likely end up with it if I can get it for a decent price.

Since the cab owners club part of the post went unnoticed from what I can see, I think we should a least have a facebook group!

Welcome to the club. I became a proud owner of an original Xevious this past Sept. when my wife found one on Craigslist (after YEARS of searching she says). I bought an empty/gutted Kangaroo cab for a multigame project this spring, & I may be a customer of CC's above, almost just bought his Gyruss.

To me it's a neat feeling to own one of these, but does it get better the more you add? Not sure I'll find out, I have space issues. But I moved my Xevious indoors by myself (dont recommend it) last month, & that feeling was "wow, I have my favorite coin-op IN MY HOUSE, to play ANYTIME I want. I can wake up at 3AM & play if I want to." as a kid 30 yrs ago, you'd never guess you'd would own one, in your home.

I also suffer from the bad basement design. To build my MAME cabinet, I had to start with a cabinet that was used for poker machines and then mod it to get the stuff in. My Deer Hunting USA is sitting in my dining room right now (much to my wife's chagrin) and my Double Axle is sitting in a garage 100 mi. away. I am hoping I can save the cash to get a decent shed/garage this summer with a concrete floor so my arcade machines will have a proper home.

I have to admit, I am addicted to OWNING them, but not necessarily to PLAYING them. I fire them up once in a while, hit the switch a few times to load it up with credits, and play. Then it gets shut off for a while. I actually like watching other people play them and see them getting all excited about reliving some old memory. Far better to me than actually playing it myself sometimes.

Even when I had a MAME cabinet, I didn't play it that much, and I had a lot more fun watching other people play it.
