Poll closes Saturday 27th November 2010 10am BST

Crystal Castles - Think the unofficial beta plays better than the later release :ponder:
Donkey Kong - How high can you get :?:
Pole Position - Atari or Datasoft versions, will need to have separate PAL & NTSC tables :ponder:
Threshold - Got to have a shooter in the vote :!:
Joust - Better players on 'Skilled', others on Novice :!:

What is the difference between PAL and NTSC Pole Position? Is the PAL-version so much slower?

When I recently put together (is that a split infinitive?) the All Time Ratings and Records (end of plug!) I noticed that there were a few issues when it was played before: Looks like NTSC is harder in terms of less time bonus and this makes less points and PAL plays better (I always thought it was a bit too easy and now I know why!) :ponder:

Maybe we can do some sort of team event, or utilise an atariksi forumla (as long as I still beat him) :P

Donkey Kong is one of those games where you can never master those barrel screens-- no repetitive pattern. Joust has the pteradactyl otherwise it's easy once you get used to flying your bird. And Novice level doesn't have the pteradactyl-- one reason I flipped the score board on Joust at novice.

I've got that B & C Crystal Castles cart. It plays quite nicely. I don't know which version it is, however. You might be able to get and answer from them if you send them an email. They sometimes have it on ebay, and answer to questions there as well.

I'm the only one voting for Pole Position? Damn it! Donkey Kong? Donkey Kong can kiss my ass.

I'd like to recommend Aquatron for a future competition.

(...and what the hell happened to my Ballblazer suggestion? You guys don't like blazing balls or something?)

It's democracy. I don't mind playing any of them, but of the ones mentioned Donkey Kong is one of those games that always gives you that challenge slightly above the others.

I remembered that soon after posting the poll - next vote I promise... Aquatron is a superb game too (was on my list) will get that in there also... I'd like to see Donkey Kong kiss your... no on 2nd thoughts :D

I see the bonus round's going down like the proverbial lead ballon so will start the new game earlier - just changing ISP so am at the public library (for the first time in years, they have books too ;) ) to see what you've all been playing and the answer is NOTHING :x C'mon Drelbs and Nightmares are decent games and most of the others are ok for a quick bash...

I think it was this one: Crystal Castles (1984)

There may be some differences in the B&C version, though, but that one seems very complete as far as I can remember. I downloaded a cracked executable of it in the 80's from a local BBS.

If we play Ball Blazer what droid are we playing against?
Ball Blazer was played 2 times before in the 7800 HSC, the first time was against droid 4 with a 6 minute time limit.
And the second time was against droid 5 with a 3 minute time limit.

And does the bonus round make the regular season 1 month longer?

I think our version was only 1 droid but Mr.A said if you beat him the next one is harder :?: Don't think you can select droids :?:

I was going to end the season end of Jan but might bring this forward a bit as am sure you'd all like to start the new season off sooner, what do you guys think :?:

Closing the poll now and getting the next game up and running as I've no ISP until tuesday :ponder:
