  • 3 weeks later...

My favorite tournament from last season was the Flag Day Craptacular. It consisted of a diverse lineup of mainstream titles selected by the players from a pool of games that did not make the cut for the Memorial Day tourney. The tournament was then fleshed out with less than mainstream titles that would not normally be played for an HSC week along with variations of more popular titles.

Here was the lineup from that tournament:

Eagle (selected by rmaerz - Easter Weekend Pactacular champion)

Galaga 88 (selected by FlyingTurtle - Mario Memorial Day Weekend Tourney Runner-up)

Space Invaders II (selected by darthkur - Easter Weekend Pactacular Runner-up)

Mr. Do's Wild Ride (selected by roadrunner - Mario Memorial Day Weekend Tourney third place)

Datsun 280 Zzzap

Joyman

Tempest Tubes

Centipede [3 minute timer]

Meadows Lanes

Moon Patrol (1 Life/No Bonus)

Gee Bee

It seems like the sweet spot for tournaments is 10 games and 1.5 weeks in duration. So with that, we have nine titles from two previous tournaments that received multiple nominations plus a vote on a crap title to fill the final spot.

I think this tournament has a nice mix of titles and please vote for the final selection. Any game that receives a vote but does not make the cut will be rolled over into the Flag Day Craptacular. Any games not receiving a vote will be sucked into a black hole.

How does the voting work?

Just vote for one of the four crap titles and whichever one receives the most votes will earn the final spot in the tournament.

Any other games that receive a vote will earn a spot in the Flag Day Craptacular. Any games not receiving a vote will simply disappear.

Yeah i seen that. I think we played 3 or 4 of those games last time. I'd like to play some Berzerk or Pole Position. :)

Yeah but Homey don't have those... :)

I used to have the Multicart and the game is as bad as they say it is being slow and all...

Yes indeed. Four to five levels into the game when you have lots of enemy robots on the screen, game speed slows down, and the robots become really flickery. I've have played both on the Vectrex and on an emulator, and you don't see the flickery effect on the emulator.
