Jagmod. I dunno who that is. He's won quite a bit of Jaguar stuff. Here's the link so you can e-mail him.

I think I know who he is... he beat me out of a couple auctions in the past. ;-)

That's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure!

It was me.
Mine looks like a home made proto though.
Definately not made from a mold.

Since T-bird got the first one with the box, you two should compare and see if there are any differences you can tell us about. :)

JagMod, do half the connections work on the thing?

He must have gotten something similar to the one I got. Basically it's an extremely crude and home-made looking piece of crap. I'm not even sure there is a real PCB in the thing. They look like they took a couple of rectangular pieces of plastic and sandwitched the connectors between them and filled in the voids with some epoxy goop or potting compound... which oozed out in various places and left a runny looking hard mess.

No wonder Atari didn't approve the thing! Sheesh!

On the other hand, it makes some of the home-made games coming out these days look downright professional!!!!

I have not tested all the connections on mine. Since I don't think there's any active circuitry in the thing I'd be amazed if it failed, since it's a solid hunk of plastic now. How often do connectors fail these days?

I forgot to mention the box is some basic corrugated cardboard box with what appears to be a laser-printed sheet of paper glued on to simulate printing.

Ha!

I couldn't agree more.
What a piece of poor workmanship.
The catbox quality is 1000% over the jag daptor.
Then again, I would hope they would have made a real case for it
if atari had approved it.

Somehow I just don't think they were planning do do that. I've got some experience with just exactly how expensive molding plastic is, and I don't see this thing getting a molded case. Unless Atari paid for it.

You're both making me happy I didn't try harder to win those auctions. :) What a bummer....Oh well, at least it's a rare item....

It's definitely a rare item, but it wasn't really what I was interested in winning in the auction. It's neat to have, and I expected it to be like it is, so I'm not disappointed. The fact it was wone of the protos actually submitted to Atari is cool!

Cool. That was a great auction you snagged T-bird. Tons of goodies in there. Did you ever get the package? I'm curious about those flash carts and whether what is on them is different than what was released. Thanks.

T-bird won the big "sales@icwhen" auction that had a kiosk, jag-dapter + box, flash carts and a TON of games!

I have the flash carts, but I have not done any comparisons to the games at all at this point. I just made sure they worked. I've been swamped with work and it's all I can do to get my X-mas shopping done!

I will look at them eventually.

There was a catbox and SC1224 monitor, JagCD, Jaguar, BattleSphere™, and Air Cars in there as well. But those were just bonus items. I really wanted the kiosk.

Some of the games are in much better shape than the ones I had, so I will probably sell some of the ones I now have 3 or 4 of.
