As strange as this sounds it seems the US Air Force bundled 17 PS3s together and created a supercomputer

Not only that, it looks like almost 300 of them have died on them. They originally had 2000 I believe. When they send them in to Sony to be refurbished/fixed, sony updated the firmware on them which makes them useless to the air force. ;)

This is old news, and yes, they're pissed at Sony for the firmware update.

It makes me wonder if they'll do a special one off firmware update for them to make it useful to their stuff again? I mean this is the military we're talking about.
