This is a thread I've been wanting to do for a long time.

I know there are still plenty of projects missing. That especially goes for projects originating in the Y! groups.
Please bare with me, if I did either oversee your project or didn't describe it correcty.

Still to do:
* Make this a sticky thread
* Add link to the authors' profile (where possible)
* Provide more accurate summary
* Link to blog (where possible)
* Add pictures or screenshots (where possible)
* Add more projects

@project authors: please help me out with an accurate summary for your project. Thanks ;)

Very nice idea Filip!! I am quite glad to see this thread. :) Our forum is getting long now (number of threads) and this is a great way to keep up with active/living projects. I have something like this on my site (Opry99er.com) but I never get time to update it, sadly. Do you think it would be appropriate to have a screenshots or photo of these projects? For instance, the battle screen of Beryl Reichardt, and a nice hi-res photo of Matthew's board project.... Might be a very cool way to have immediate visual reference of something as you read the list. We could make sure all submitted photos are uniform in size so as to keep it looking nice and neat... What do you think?

Thanks. Yes, perhaps the thread can also help in joining forces (where possible).
Absolutely; adding a nice screenshot/photo is an excellent idea. Will follow-up on that.

I'll be back later (have to go pickup my PDF scan of the UCSD Pascal manual, but that's another story :D

Great stuff Filip!!! Glad to see this thread going. A great one-stop-shop for all things TI. :) I would love to see comment boxes under these project headers, but that might be outside the realm of Atariage's current format. Still, this is great!

Hey Filip--- you asked for authors to write descriptions of the Projects, so here goes,... (hoping to not sound pretentious)

Beryl Reichardt summary:

A new vintage-style RPG designed for the TI-99/4a. Stylistically modeled after the 8 bit console RPGs, LoBR features a menu-driven, turn-based battle engine and a classic Final Fantay-style leveling system.

*Current status: In active development

* Thread split into 2 parts (events & projects)
* Added Owens' summary for the Beryl Reichardt game

Are there generally community events which happen outside of the TI Faire? I am beginning to look at travel and stay arrangements and am expecting $500 or so, but am hoping for more than just seven hours of TI goodness.

TI-99/4A projects

Latest update: May 29th 2011
This post lists all active TI-99/4A related projects (hardware, software, documentation, ...)
It gives an overview of what folks are currently working on in the TI-99/4A scene.

Project authors, please contact me and if you want your project added/updated/removed.
Might be that one or more projects need help, so inform me and I'll add a "vacancy open" hint to the thread

Project rules:
  • Only active projects allowed
For completed projects you might want to check the Development Resources thread.
Stalled projects will be removed from the list if there has been no documented activity in over a year.

  • There must be a reasonable time spent on the project
I come up with some new projects in my mind probably at least twice a day, can't list them all here.
    You get the picture :)

  • Some proof of existance (documentation, screenshots, video, pictures) must exist. Something we can link to.

  • The project must be of some use to the TI-99/4A community, not to a single user.
I know this is hard to define, I'll try to give an example. If you do a hardware modification to your
TI-99/4A console, it is not of interest. However, if you document the steps involved and perhaps offer it
as a service, then that's another story.

Hardware

Software: programming languages

Software: game tools
  • spectra2
Updated version of the TMS9900 Arcade Game Library for the TI-99/4A.

Hoping to include every known (and available) TI-99 game ever written.
Submissions can be checked here - in case I have missed anything!
