AIRPORTS...
O'Hare international
PROS: Has a train connection, although roundabout, to Evanston. Keeps you on the north side of Chicago.
CONS: It's Chicago O'Hare. It's about a million miles long and crammed with people. You better be there at least two hours before check in. This is not your mothers airport

Taxi about $50.00 to Evanston
Midway (Need more info from an experienced traveler.)
PROS: Has a little shorter train ride but it takes you through the south side of Chicago.
CONS: I have never been to Midway but am not interested in venturing through south Chicago. Call me weak.

TRANSPORTATION...
TAXIS....
There are taxies everywhere that will take you anywhere. They are somewhat expensive but convienient.
RENTAL CARS....
Obvious but, It costs a fortune to park in Evanston and if you think you will slide by forget it. They will ticket your butt on a Sunday night !
PREPARE TO FEED THE METER ALL DAY SATURDAY. You must be out of the library garage before 6:00 PM or you will be locked in until Monday morning.
Seriously you can not get your car out !
TRAINS....
Affordable, everywhere and clean. Provided you stay on the north side of the metro you should be safe. My wife and I rode them all over Chicago’s north side
on a Sunday and had no problems what so ever. The one guy we saw that had a little too much medicine stayed to himself.
They do have schedules and do not run late at night or early in the morning so CHECK THE SCHEDULE before you plan your trip.
If you are flying in and planning on using the trains then check the schedules at this

Evanston in November is pretty chilly for a southern guy like me so bring a heavy coat and gloves unless you are used to snow in November brrrrrr.
There are several restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the faire ranging from Burger King to pizza joints to nicer sit down places.
They tend to get pretty crowed pretty quick so either eat early (5:00-6:00) pm or wait in line.
