HSC Season 3: President's Day Tournament

Recommended Posts

President's Day Tournament: 1986-1995

This will be a 10 game tournament consisting of one title per year starting 1986 and ending 1995.

Please read the changes in nomination process and vote in the poll for tournament duration.

Nominate a list of 10 titles: one from each year beginning 1986 and ending 1995. List these titles in order of preference, highest to lowest. This will allow me to flesh out the tournament (if need be) in a timely manner by going through each player's nominee list in turn and selecting the highest priority title from that respective player's list.

Example (and please try to follow this format when listing nominees) using titles from last season's Independence Day Tournament:

1982: Pepper II

1980: Star Castle

1979: Astro Fighter

1981: Lady Bug

1976: Sea Wolf

1983: Pole Position II

1984: 1942

1977: Canyon Bomber

1978: Space Invaders

1985: Dig Dug II

In this example, if the tournament field did not fulfill the ten game requirement, my nomination of Pepper II (given that that it did not receive multiple nominations - if it did, then the process of being moved to the Flag Day Craptacular would take precedent and the next game in the list would be selected) would be selected for my turn in the selection process.

Games will be added to the tournament based on the total number of nominations beginning highest to lowest.

Nomination tiebreakers:

  1. If a game has not been played previously in the history of the AtariAge Arcade/MAME HSC, that game will be chosen.
  2. If there are multiple titles that have been played previously in the history of the AtariAge Arcade/MAME HSC, then the most recently played title will be rolled over to the Flag Day Craptacular.

Games that have multiple nominations that do not make the cut in the President's Day Tournament will be added to the Flag Day Craptacular in June.

If ten games have not been selected within one week of the tournament start date, games will be selected from their list of nominations in the following order:

  • HSC Season 2 Champion (roadrunner)
  • HSC Season 3 Standings as of one week from tournament start date from highest to lowest by only those that have posted nominations
  • In case of a "wrap around," the selections will return back to the top of the current season standings

Games not receiving multiple nominations will be added to the respective player's game request queue.

Competition begins Sunday, February 13 @ noon EDT and ends Monday, February 28 @ 3AM EDT

Jurrasic Park: I don't see any score icon_exclaim.gif

I didn't see a score either.

Have you tried continue? Maybe player 1 needs to score a certain amount of points??

If there is indeed a problem with Jurassic Park then we'll pull it from the tourney. I haven't played it yet to see what's up with it.

I guess '93 wasn't a good year: Daytona USA didn't work, Jurassic Park doesn't provide a score and Joe Carter took Mitchypoo deep.

Here'e what I propose:

  •
  • Obviously, the game is pulled from the tournament
  • We play nine games this tournament
  • Since this was my designated pick, I will select four games from 1993 to be voted on as the 11th title for the Flag Day Craptacular tourney
