Okay, I plan on diving into the world of reproductions soon. I'm doing a Genesis reproduction of Mega Man: The Wily Wars and a SNES reproduction of Sanrio World Smash Ball. I have the donor games (cheap sports ones) and I know of sites that burn chips for reproductions, but I still have a few questions.
1. How does Wily Wars save? I know using a battery, but when I start up the game I get a screen of three slots and I can choose a picture of the bosses from Mega Man 1, 2 or 3. I choose one, and it lets me select a game. Is there one slot per game or something?
2. On the SNES, where do I know to desolder/solder the chip? Also, I need to split the file before I send it to be burned, right?
3. Any other good games that I should reproduce?
4. Where can I find the label for Wily Wars? I've seen it on other reproductions, it has a red Genesis label on it. As for the other, where can I find an American SNES label template?
Apparently Street Fighter II (the original) is the best donor for Sanrio World Smash Ball, after some research.

Well, I can answer Question 1, at least.
When you first start a file, you pick a game. After that, you are stuck with that game until you beat it. The game saves after each level you beat. Once you win the whole game, the game saves, and you can select one of the other two. When you beat all three, you get...a surprise.
By the way, be absolutely sure to use the Wily Wars SRAM patch from romhacking.com; the original ROM uses a weird saving system that is hard to duplicate on a cart, and makes it impossible to save in an emulator. The SRAM patch allows you to save using the traditional battery system.

Could you explain which carts and what services you are using for custom Genesis carts?
I'm sure if you found a way and shared your knowledge the Genesis homebrew scene would grow!

Seems the original poster wasn't able to provide more information so I'll post what I've found.
http://www.gamereproductions.com/ may be the best place to contact for SNES and Genesis homebrew and/or reproduction carts. He does usually have quite a backlog though.
