Any reportable progress on this? That video you posted looks incredible. Mad props to you Mike. Looking forward to adding this alongside War (really nice work on that btw). Thanks.

Alright Adam was gone for the day yesterday so it took some time to get this info:

If you are interested in getting on the waiting list for Crazy Climber (should be ready to ship in 6-8 weeks from now) email: ballyalley@hotmail.com

As per Adam's post to the groups:
-------------------
A waiting list for "Crazy Climber" will now begin now that the pre-orders for the game are complete. This list will work on a first come, first served basis. Here is how to get you name on the list and how the list works:

1) Email me and ask to be added to the list. (ballyalley@hotmail.com)

2) You will be added to a list for the remaining copies of "Crazy Climber" in the order that your name is received.

3) There is absolutely NO need to send any money at this point. Once the game is ready to ship, then you will be contacted. At that point you will have seven days to purchase the game. If you decide not to buy the game, or if seven days elapse and the game has not yet been purchased, then you lose your place on the list.

This list is as simple as it sounds.

If you're interested in being added to the "Crazy Climber" waiting list, then contact me.
-------------------

There were 20 that people could pre-pay for so we can actually make the PCB's etc. but those were already spoken for by the time I heard back. In any case if you get on the list you'll get one. I've also been asking about a 2nd print of War but that will not happen until after the CC release.

Another update:

The initial run of Crazy Climber will be 50 numbered copies. There will most likely be reprints of CC and War at a later time.

At this time only one can be reserved per person. If less than the 50 copies are spoken for in 4 weeks from now, Adam will then allow people to reserve more than one if so desired.

Estimated release of production is 8 weeks from now.

There are less than 1/2 of the 50 copies remaining. If you want a Bally Astrocade Crazy Climber I wouldn't wait too long.

I watched the entire video of the review of War. Wow, had no idea such a thing could be done on the Astrocade, which I regarded as a weak sub-2600 oddball early cartridge-based unit, like the Fairchild Channel F. But it looked really good!! It sounded okay! I have Castle Crisis for the Atari 8-bit and I can't tell if it is as good as that. It does look just as good, I think.

Check out The Incredible Wizard if you want to see the BPA/Astrocade really shine.

Probably the best port of Wizard of War for that era, period. Better yet, pick up an actual console and play it.

Galaxian is a contender too, and "Munchie" (the consoles version of Pac-Man, never released officially but later sold third party as "Muncher") is a pretty decent game as well.

So much went wrong with the release of this system and during its lifetime it’s just a shame, really. (Heck, its name changed four times: Home Library Computer, then Bally Professional Arcade to Bally Computer System and finally Astrocade).

A lot of people may not realize they were all one and the same, just with different badging (basically).

It’s a cool system to get your hands on if you can, and with Michael creating new games like War and Crazy Climber it just got that much better.

Check out www.ballyalley.com for more information.

Just an update... the Limited release of this game is nearly ready to ship. There are 16 copies unreserved, so if you want one make sure to get in touch with Adam soon. Right now it's a limit of one per customer but that limitation will be removed in the next week or 2 if the remaining games don't get spoken for.

Crazy Climber Officially For Sale Today

It has been a long time coming, but Riff Raff Game's "Crazy Climber" for the Bally Arcade/Astrocade officially is for sale TODAY for $50. No more pre-sale. No more waiting list. The game is available NOW.

I figure that the people who bought the game (and had to wait) get the first chance to see what it looks like. So, I'm not posting any pictures of it right now. I'll post pictures of "Crazy Climber's" manual, box and cartridge label at the beginning of next week. Of course, if someone gets the game in the mail, they are free to post pictures first (as I'm sure someone will do).

If you would like a copy of "Crazy Climber," then send me a personal email (or contact me through Atari Age) and we'll work out the details.

Right now there are about twelve copies available (I'm holding three back in case we have mail service trouble-- which we did with "War"). I expect that once the game has pictures posted, then people will snap these last remaining copies right up. So, get your "Limited Edition" copy of "Crazy Climber" right now. Each cartridge and box is hand-numbered x/50.

Adam
