1) Did Krazy Ace ever come with a regular Lynx style manual? Or was there only a photocopied sheet of paper for instructions?

2) How long was Krazy Ace in production? I've got a cart that has a 2002 copyright on it and Long Live the Lynx! printed on the back.

I don't happen to have my cart style list with me (as I am on the road...)
However, Krazy Ace came in a few different cart styles. There was the Green PCB with the plastic case covering the EPROM... and then there were the ones you are talking about with the Long Live The Lynx motto on the back.

As mentioned before in the forums, Telegames bought some of the PCB stock from Songbird... or from the guy Songbird got his carts from later in the Lynx's life cycle. So they are legit releases as well.

As for the Manual... I don't recall. I have the box at home and can check Sunday evening or on Monday. I would assume that someone here can answer that by then though.

1) Krazy Ace never had a standard color Lynx manual. Telegames only produced a photocopied instruction sheet. The only changes made were that the original sheet Telegames made said nothing about holes 8 and 9. The newer sheets note that holes 8 and 9 are a repeat of holes 1 and 2 but they add that the Krazy Ace crew got lazy and didn't clean the areas so there may be stuff lying around and you may experience strange ball bouncing, etc. I believe this was added to respond to complaints people had that Telegames never completed the game and repeated two holes. I don't see any stuff lying around on holes 8 and 9 and the bouncing is the same Krazy physics as the earlier holes.

2) Telegames made some newer copies after they ran out of the stock from the mid-'90s. It's all legitimate.

I noticed that Songbird had gotten in a "very limited" stock of Krazy Ace a few weeks ago, but as of the 1/24/11 update to the website, they have sold out all their copies. Is that where you got yours?

Yes, it was the last one.

As the "last" of the cardboard series, Krazy Ace seems very slapdash to me. Even the reproduction quality of the images on the box seems lower res compared to other releases.

Its clear that Krazy Ace was never finished and shame on Telegames for releasing as they did because really its nothing more than a playabe proto.

The orginal blurb for the game advertised it as featuring 18 holes

Where did you find a blurb for Krazy Ace mentioning 18 holes? I checked my Telegames brochure and the Atari one, both available here,
http://www.atariage....areLabelID=2013
and did not find a mention of how many holes it has.

I actually find the game cute and fun to play, especially as it allows two players on one Lynx. I, for one, am happy that they released it instead of leaving it in "unreleased proto" limbo that so many games (e.g. Eye of the Beholder) are in.

I haven't played this for a while but I do recall it being 7 holes with hole 8 and 9 simply being repeats from the first 7.
