Has anyone here from the U.S. bought any stuff from them recently? I see they have an Iron Soldier II cartridge for $69 (British currency). It says that my credit card will automatically convert it to U.S. dollars. I just want to see if anyone here has done business with them recently and how the transaction went, before I create an account. Are they professional and trustworthy?

Thanks!

I am not from the US but I have never heard anyone from the US have a problem with them.

I myself bought my Jaguar from them on pre-order and have dealt with them loads over the years and cannot fault their service.

Remember that it was Telegames themselves that published IS2 among other games ;)

If you're looking to buy IS2, I just sold my copy but I see that Songbird has a limited stock of them for $109.95 plus $8 shipping. That may seem high, but just go to any currency converter website and you will see that 69 British Pounds (no dollar sign should be applied) plus 11 more British Pounds for their shipping charge, even without the recommended insurance charge of 8 Pounds, will add up to about $128, $10 more than what Songbird charges, plus your credit card company may charge you a fee for the currency conversion, so why not just get it from Songbird, right here in the US of A?

Plus you forgot a VAT of 17 percent.

Having said all that I did buy Atari Karts from them because at the time was the only place I could find it except on Ebay where they wanted $200 for it.

And the transaction went very smoothly. They shipped 4 days later with a weekend in there and even sent me an email apologizing for the late shipping.

As for Atari Karts:
You can get it new and sealed for $79.95 (including free shipping) from Video 61:
http://members.tcq.n...o61/jagnew.html
That page has been around for a while so I can't imagine when buying from Telegames UK for 79 British Pounds plus 11 more for international shipping would have been cheaper...
That said, I have nothing against Telegames UK, they are very professional, but in this case, IS2 is definitely cheaper from Songbird if you live in the US.

I have had good experiences ordering from Telegames UK, but as some posters have stated you may be better off going with Songbird due to currency conversion and shipping. If you are looking for multiple games though, sometimes Telegames will offer a discount if you ask nicely. ;)

I'm in the US and have ordered from Telegames UK in the past. My biggest problems with them are:

They don't remove the VAT for buyers outside of Europe
A lot of items on their site are no longer available
Shipping charges are kind of high if you're only ordering one game

Other than that, they ship fast and are nice to deal with.

Unless they are VAT registered in the UK they can't remove the VAT. Was there a valid VAT number on their invoice?

Has anyone from the US successfully contacted Telegames lately? I have sent two e-mails to their sales e-mail address in the past two months about whether some games are in stock and have not gotten a response at all. Given the unfinished look of their website and the fact that they sold a lot of their stock to classic game source in Florida, it makes me hesitant to order.

Telegames USA sold all their stock

Telegames UK didn't, generally if they have it listed they have it in stock.

No, actually Telegames UK sold most of their classic stock a couple of years ago. I know because I exchanged e-mails with the owner of Classic Game Source at the time and she talked about the hassle of shipping it all from the UK, customs issues and her struggle with what to do with all the PAL titles she received and which she believes Telegames misrepresented to her as NTSC or dual compatible.

Oh ok my bad. I know that Telegames UK is pretty much run by one guy who even builds the Jag carts now himself. He might be away but Pete is a pretty good guy and I am sure he will get back to you.

I posted the following info' elsewhere on the 'net back in December '08. Whether it helps shed any light on the current situation with Telegames UK I don't know...

"I bought ... from Telegames UK in the first quarter of '08 the guy on the other end of the line stated they were in the process of relocating the business premises/warehouse to somewhere new/smaller. He said that as a consequence of this they were looking to clear stock for certain older gaming systems, including Jaguar, with a view to ending catering for said systems."

Upstate NY.

Just placed an order on their site. Felt pretty safe. Used Paypal and you can tell they keep their web site up to date with monthly specials and price changes. They have already updated the site with February specials.

Game box had bubble wrap around it inside another cardboard box.

@ bojay1997:

* No, I'm in the UK - see beneath my avatar pic

* As I was considering ordering a fair number of items (a BNIB Jaguar CD unit plus several Jaguar games) I thought to call him instead of ordering through the 'site. I did so on the off chance I might be offered any kind of discount. The guy (sorry, I don't now recall his name) was very friendly and helpful and he did indeed offer me a generous discount that bettered the two-for-one offer listed on the website at the time for the games I was hoping to buy. In fact, iirc, he said if I ordered all the games I mentioned to him that I was thinking of ordering then he'd give me an even greater discount still. I took him up on the offer and was delighted with both the helpful customer service offered and the deal I received just for having called him. I distinctly remember him saying it was always better to call him instead of using the website as he was more likely to be in a position to offer better deals that way on account of the fact he didn't update all of the website too often. This latter point was shown to be fact as one of the games listed on the website as being in stock was in fact sold out - he then apologised for not having updated the website to reflect that.

* He was content for the rather large sized package to be delivered at my request to my workplace and it arrived only a few days later with all items well packaged. No crushed Jaguar game boxes - unlike some of the times I've bought stuff via eBay!

Put simply, I couldn't have asked for any more.

Yep. For people like me who do not have a copy yet the price has gone up a lot.

Estarland had it listed a couple of weeks ago for $149.00 but, like Video61, no longer listed.

Two sites in the UK have it listed as available:
Telegames UK: $126.95 http://www.telegames...cPath=324_69_72
Video Gamer: $126.95 http://www.videogame...Pricelist on ch

Both prices were converted from British pounds.

These guys had a bad rep for awhile, which worked to my advantage once when an incredibly rare SMS game (Lucky Dime Caper Gift Set) was on there and no one thought they had it. I got it for next to nothing. I've heard a lot of complaints about them, though.
