Hi guys.
Yesterday arrived my Atari Lynx Grey Matters Magazine. And i found some games that never released. Whats happend to this? are existing roms of this games? Ninja Nerd (Sidescroller),
Cabal (Shoot em Up like Nam 1975)
Hyperdrome,
Vindicators,
Guadians: Storm over Doria (RPG),
Heavyweight Contender (Boxing)
Blood and Guts Hockey.

Most interesting for me is Cabal and Guadians :D
Maybe some games will released in a few years

Hyperdrome - Released by Telegames.
Cabal - Conversion of Fabtek coin-op and unreleased.
Vindicators - Conversion of Atari coin-op, code is apparently lost.
Storm Over Doria - Never got beyond 30% complete and was scrapped.
Heavyweight Contender & Blood and Guts - Unreleased

I have done full write ups on all these games and around 50 others that never saw a full release for Atari User magazine in the very popular Lost Lynx Games Guide.

How it is that I never realized this after almost 20 years, I cannot understand. Thanks for opening my eyes.

Yes i can buy it with credit card, but in germany its not the standard paying in this way, and i dont want ever go back to paypal caused by some bad things paypal did.

So iam not able to buy your magazine, i buy that one that i can hold in the hand printed on premium paper and sold as "hardware". I buy many of them, but Atari-User is not possible for me.

If you dont want talk about some things to sell some magazins in this way, than i hope some other who already own this magazin will give us some informations about the lost lynx games.

Dont missunderstand me, its OK that you create and sell a magazin, and its many work to collect all the informations for the magazins, but here in this board i will get informations when i ask twice not a second link to a shop.

How do people in Germany pay for things online then? :?

It's not my magazine I just write for it. It would be very difficult to post all the information with images too for 50 odd games here. Everyone knows that I did alot of research into these games and I have always said I am happy to answer any questions people have about any games, just like I did at the top of this thread.

There are still 2 parts to come in the Atari User guide. After that is done then we may do a special 1 off print magazine for this guide, that is if there is enough demand for it.

^^PayPal or mostly, normal bank transfers. Indeed, CCs are not that common over here at least.

And thanks to all people who keep the Lynx alive. It´s natural that at least some reward besides appreciative forum posts is demanded for good work. (I don´t know your magazine yet but surely as far as homebrew developing and marketing goes, you guys are worth every cent!)

You really should do a paper version of this magazine! Otherwise what's the point publish it in a magazine format? I never understod this. You could just put the info on any random web-site. And I don't want to print it and put it together myself.

When I am buying a magazine I want a magazine, if you know what I mean.

Each to their own, I say. For instance, I'm content to sometimes purchase book/magazine downloads to be viewed solely on my iPhone. Not having the printed version doesn't bother me in the least. If it did then its no big deal to print it out. Simple! :)

These are the things we have being trying to get feedback from people on. There are plans to do a paper magazine too but we need to know that enough people want it. Any and all feedback is welcome over at the AU forum.

As somebody already said alot of people like to view the magazine on a phone or a tablet device so the way it is is perfect for them. There are also several people who do print it out to read it. One good feature about the way the magazine is done now is that we can still include links in the PDF's.

i think i am to much retro for reading a magazine on a phone or tablet. I love the smell of printed magazines :)

I hope svenski and mr laird has a lot of money if they are going down the printed version road (even if they're printing 100 copies professionally, i.e vogue/tatler format) it will cost them a pretty penny

That might happen if some of you people want to flog advertising for them (so that they have some income to spend printing the magazine)

Just to chime in... I checked out the AU website a few weeks ago with the intent of ordering the magazine (and all back-issues). When I saw it was PDF only, I said heck no! There's no way I'd pay essentially the same price, if not more, for a PDF as a real paper magazine. I think they should print an actual magazine and let subscribers also download the PDF format, or offer a STEEP discount for a PDF only option since most all the overhead is not present.

The costs of a print magazine are very steep and seen as the magazine only just started that was not a viable option. Once we feel there is enough demand for it there will be a print issue too, this was always the plan.

Anyone who subscribes to the magazine will tell you how professional it is and alot of people just print it off themselves to read or use an iPhone or iTab.

Also its ALOT less than say Retro Gamer which is £5 an issue and has lots of advertising revenue.

Is there a sample issue available? a few pages from one issue say as a free download? Having looked at the website all you can see of the magazine is the front cover image, and the broken website certainly doesn't help instil any confidence.

I'd possibly be more inclined to part with my cash if I could have a preview of what it was that's on sale.

Broken website? I have never noticed any problems with it! So please pass any problems onto the admin/editor who is also a member here (svenski)

We were doing issue 1 as a free download sample but it wasn't really reflective of the following issues so it was pulled and a special deal on the first lot of issues for $10 was added instead until we could sort out a new sample issue.

I could probably sort something out for you and email it to you.

I'd like to know what "broken" means, maybe me need to jettison the warp core.... Klingons on the starboard bow etc......

Looks like you have found and fixed it since the last time I looked, one of the menu buttons threw up a none existing page. Other than that the menu shifts about as you select things, right justification of the menu 'feels' wrong to me (but personal preference etc). Oh and you seem to have a reference to a file on your hard drive in the java script stuff.

st_siteroot="file:///C|/sites/atariuser/new%20site";

When I said sample I didn't mean a whole issue, but more a selection of single pages perhaps 6, perhaps the 1st page of an article from an issue, so that people could see the formatting of the magazine, and see what the content is like, but not actually get a huge amount of the actual content. I have seen this done in past before.
