This is the most messy article on IGN I've ever seen. I've never heard of LG sueing Sony about anything. Anyone have any other information on this?

Sounds like some petty schoolyard dynamics to me that'll end up getting some high-priced lawyers involved. Outcome will be passed on to and probably negatively affect the consumer as per the norm in these cases. Yay.

Its just a counter suit, this is normal. when one company (SONY) files a patent infringement lawsuit against another company (LG) the other company (LG) counter sues by doing the same.

Thats crazy about anything having to do with bluray because isn't SONY apart of the Blu-ray Disc Association as well as LG (as well as a few other companies) ? and both are Blu-ray Disc Founders (as well as a few other companies). neither SONY nor LG totally own blu-ray (its a joint effort between quite a few companies).

Whoever comes out on top, the other will have to pay some type of royalty fee. Been that way forever. Like Sony vs Nintendo when rumble was first introduced.
