Well, for what I've read until now, AirCars is a good piece for collectors ONLY.... collectors that have lot of money to invest in a not-so-good game!

There are plenty of not-so-good games out there, uncluding ones that aren't even finished. They seem to get more praise from Jaguar fans than Air Cars, which at least TRIED to be complete (and do something original like networking). I think a lot of Air-cars hatred is because it was made by ICD. I think if Air Cars was released be someone else at lot of people would like it more.

T-bird, I don't think even if you released it anyone would like this game. Wait a minute.....You would never release a game that bad! :D

I just think that it gets more bad attention because of ICD. I see some of the demos from the fly-by-night jag developers get more praise than Air Cars, and they don't even have a game or complete engine in them yet. The companies that made them disappeared too!

Ok, so to mad it clear I write what I've understand 'til now: AirCars isn't a good game, have some bugs, is boring if not played in network. But it's very rare, so become interesting for collectors. Right? :)

About it, it's known how many AirCars carts was built and sold?

It very much a personal taste in this type of game.
Just about all networked or two player games become fun because of the human element introduced. Pong was fun because two people played it.
Tennis against the wall was not, it was just you trying to beat the wall.

True it is taste for this kind of games, I love Hover Strike, I-war, and Iron soldier, but I say "NO !" To Aircars.

Even in Network we did't find where the interest was.

I think Aircars mainly suffers from being a game that doesn't age well over time. I remember when I first got Aircars, not only was I excited about a new Jaguar game (any game at that point, I admit), but in comparison to Cybermorph it wasn't bad. Then we played a few rounds of 2-3 players, and really had a lot of fun alternating between working together and suddenly nuking each other. ;)

As I wrote in a review of Aircars long ago, it would have been a decent game in the 1994-1995 market -- graphically it wasn't cutting edge, but if you look at all the 3D0 and Sega CD stuff that was coming out, it was comparable. From a technical perspective, with a few game play tweaks (no more infinite lives and a better damage system to let the player survive longer) and the incredible 8-player networking, it would have easily been a favorite Jaguar game.

Instead, these days I'd much rather play a round of T2K or Skyhammer on the Jag, and for a great multiplayer game, BattleSphere is obviously superior in every aspect.
