I'm happy to announce that in co-operation with Ken Siders, I am providing a very special bonus item to everyone who pre-orders the Atari 5200 Ultimate SD Cartridge.

Everyone who pre-orders will receive an authorized digital edition of the awesome 5200 homebrew Beef Drop!

Beef Drop is Ken's original 5200 homebrew of the arcade favorite Burgertime!

Even if you are a hard core collector and already own the full version of fantastic homebrew, you can now play your fully licensed digital edition on your Ultimate SD cartridge, or even in an emulator.

Three New 5200 Conversions

To celebrate the release of the new Ultimate SD cartridge, I have ported three new Atari 8-bit games to the 5200!

Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

The games are (click link below for 5200 gameplay video):

These three games are free 'unofficial' extras and will be posted with ROM images in the 5200 forum shortly. These are all converted as standard 32K Atari 5200 ROM images, so you can play them in any emulator as well.

Ordering Information

Pre-ordering begins now, with shipments starting 03/18/2011.

Pre-order pricing is $129.95 per kit and this order run is limited to 100 kits.

For complete product information, order form and videos of the cartridge in action please visit:

http://www.atarimax.com/5200sd/

Cartridge Overview

The Ultimate SD Cartridge supports the following Atari 5200 ROM formats:

  • All standard 32K or less ROM images with BIOS Bypass for Atari made 5200 games.
  • All bank-switched ROM images including Bounty Bob Strikes Back!
  • MEGA-CART Bank-switched ROM images up to 512KB (M.U.L.E, etc)
  • New modes including the Hybrid 512KB full Read/Write 8k/8k Bank-switching mode

The bank switching logic, CPU firmware, boot flash and menu software are all 100% field upgradable by just placing new files on the SD card and turning on the system!

(Edit: You can see more information about the development of the cart by visiting the thread in the Colecovision/ADAM forum: http://www.atariage....project-update/)

Starting to worry that they will be sold out by the time I get my order in. How many are left?

I can make more, but they may be out of stock for awhile until I have time to build them.

Wow. I would totally get it... I've been getting really into the 5200 lately. But it's a bit much to spend at the moment. Still, seems liek a great product. I too hope there's another release down the road.

Should I regret purchasing the Atarimax 128-in-1 Multi-Cart this past year?
