Rate the game M for Mature, and rate the company M for Morons.

I don't understand what the problem is? How is this game "for minors"? It's rated M, as all games not intended for children are. This is a perfect example of the circular logic that has been applied to the Wii since day one:

"The Wii doesn't have any games for adults!"

"Yes, it does, here's one right now. This is a game for the Wii that is completely inappropriate for younger players."

"No, that game is for kids!"

"Why?"

"Because it's on the Wii!"

Look... if you don't like the game, don't buy it. I really don't care what goes into your personal collection. But come on, saying that this game is in any way intended for minors is a total straw man.

Another stupid ass thing teaching teens that sex is good. For 21 and up I don't care what you do, but making a "kinky" game for 12 year olds!? Your at an all time low ubisoft...

From what I found googling, It's only being released in Europe, and there it has been rated appropriate for 12 year-old's.

"We Dare, which promises 'flirty fun for all' is a massive departure from the usually child-friendly Wii gaming environment and surprisingly has passed with a PEGI-12 rating which deems it suitable for 12-year-olds.

The game is a Europe only release, planned for March 11th. Have a look at the trailer for yourself and let us know if you'll be splashing out on the game for your next 'couples night.'"

Dang, I was kinda looking forward to that. Granted, I don't think the game should be labeled as appropriate for 12 year olds, but is it really Ubi's fault? They don't control PEGI.

The Europeans are not as bound up in our Victorian sexual repression.

That said, if the game is rated M then it is for grown-ups, regardless of the system it is on. Again, another open door for Wii bashing...

I don't think developers or publishers rate these games. Those who do rate them may not have understood how this was to be marketed. I wonder if Ubisoft will place their own warning on the box, or submit it for re-rating.

Or maybe it's just a big scam to get us all talking about a bad game.
If that's the case, it's a wonder that they didn't shoot the advert with kids to start with.

Actually as far as I could tell, the game itself didn't seem very sexual. It played with themes of affection but didn't go into details. It didn't show Mii's having sex, it just showed them falling in love with and dating each other. It was the actors in the commercial that were sexualizing everything. For example, when the people were spanking each other, nothing of that sort was happening on screen. The people were just finding ways to enjoy the game in more sexual ways than really needed to play the game.

I'd have to see more of the actual gameplay without the commercial acting to really have a bias on the issue.

The game looks dumb and not something I would buy but it looks to me like the it's targeted at adults (I didn't see any 12-year-olds in the commercial) and that the church lady who wrote the "article" was looking for a clickworthy headline and included the bit about 12-year-olds to generate ad revenue. I have a bigger issue with that.

Ahhh....Europe. Gotta love Europe (not the band). I should know. In my younger years my family used to take summer vacation time out there where I would really get a kick of seeing the nudy mags hanging on newstands in the streets. :P

I guess that explains it.

Ridiculously looking commercial and game though. Hilarious at this point.

My girlfriend used to spank me when I played videogames, but that was really more of a shame/humiliation thing.

What this guy said. Remember when Mass Effect had a tastefully done ten second sex cutscene which showed nothing you haven’t seen on daytime television, then the media attacked and claimed the entire game was basically a sex simulator? Let’s not make the same mistake they did and judge a game without any real idea of how it’s played.

Did the "God of War" series ever get any controversy over the sex mini games?
