In a lot of 7 games from ebay, I got a Gates of Zendocon that is the ridged version.

I had never seen this style before. I was an active Lynx user in its life span. Getting the Lynx 1 and most of the games. Then a Lynx II when it came out.

So I was surprised by this ridged cart. Anyway, are they really that rare? I see the guide here at AA lists them as a 5. How much are they typically worth and how often do they show up on ebay in lots or singles?

They are not really that rare at all, I have come across loads of them over the years.

Thats cool. I like the ridged cart. I don't like the curved ones too much but they are the easiest to get out of the Lynx I.

They are rare-ish. :)

Wasn't it the earlier titles that were made like that?

Wow, I didn't even know there was a style like that. I thought they were all either curved or, umm, flat with bumps.

Rare-ish is a good term for them.

When the Lynx came out... it initially came out with a handful of games. These games were Flat Cartridges.
Deciding it was too hard to remove the game from the Lynx System, they switched a few to the Ridged version.

Then they streamlined it with the curved version.

There are a handful of games that have all three versions...

Blue Lightning
California Games
Chip's Challenge
Electrocop
Gates of Zendocon

There is one game that only came with Ridged and Curved:
Guantlet: The third Encounter

I think that sums it up....

^^From what I know, they are only 1-5 Euros each more expensive than the normal curved ones as far as professional dealers whose catalogues I know are concerned. I believe these early games are very common anyway.
