During this past week's episode of "Big Bang Theory", Sheldon invited his new friends over for the evening. It was "Retro Games Thursday" and their choices were some ColecoVision game, Atari's "Cookie Monster Munch" and "Zork I." Why, of all games in the Atari library, would a grown man choose a Sesame Street game, is beyond me, but I thought the mention was still pretty cool! :)

PSHAW! Cookie Monster Munch? What fools! Everyone knows Oscar's Trash Race is the superior CTW game. :)

Cool to see they picked an under-represented title, though. It wouldn't have been as cool to see Asteroids, Pac-Man, or Space Invaders be chosen. I wonder if it was intentionally written that way or if the prop guy could only find the CMM cart? :D

I didn't see the show, but somebody at work did. They felt compelled to tell me about it (for some reason Posted Image )

Smurf Rescue In Gargamel's Castle was the ColecoVision game.

Bingo, he got one of the lamest Atari 2600 games for adults to play, and a lame Colecovision kids game just to play his Zork game. Still it was awesome to see them give some representation to an old school game.

Intellivision game choice was either Word Fun or Math Fun.

the copy of Smurf was the 2600 version because it was in a red box, not the gray ColecoVision box.

LOL, I missed that. You would think with a show made for nerds, they should have known that someone would notice...

Yup. I turned to my wife and told here that it was DEFINITELY NOT the Colecovision version. She just shook her head at me and called me a dork :)
