This will never compare to the original. Still one of my favorites.

Revolutionika....sorry, but I can't get to your link from work....what's the news on this game? Is it being released for XBLA?? It looks very cool. Burgertime is actually a classic that I have not played, but I may need to pick up this reboot if it get's released on the 360.

Neat, but I think that would make me sick after awhile.

Apparently this thing is suppose to come out Wednesday on XBLA. I didn't see it available on PSN tonight.

Guys - remember how the late 90's saw a surge in modern remakes of 70's and 80's arcade classics? And how most of them were on PS1 and N64 and crap?

Remember how most of them sucked?

Have we come back around again? Are pogs and yo-yos coming back again soon?

This is being created by MonkeyPaw Games, the company behind all the non-Capcom PSOne Classic Imports titles.

I don't know guys, other than maybe Boulderdash on the Xbox 360 I have been constantly disappointed by the remakes.

Elevator Action sucked IMO opinion. The one that came out on the PS3\PSN about a month back. At least they gave me the original game on that one.

Hopefully Monkeypaw can make this a winner.

Funny cause I just played the Asteroids remake this weekend on the PS1.

I tried it today but not for long. It doesn't play anything like Burger Time.

That game looks like crap. And it looks like it plays like crap. Probably tastes like crap too.

I don't know, I think the '90s had a better run than what we are seeing today. Asteroids was, well, Asteroids at least; Robotron 64 was a solid remake (lots of people on these forums seem to enjoy it, anyway); Tempest 2000 and Tempest X3, don't need to say much on that; Frogger wasn't quite what I was looking for as a gamer back then, but it was fun at least; Q*Bert was a solid remake, especially on the Dreamcast; Centipede.. OK, that was a hack-job, but at least the classic/retro mode available in it was well-done.

From the ones I've played, the best remakes have been merely competent (like Q*Bert), the worst have been, well, terrible (Centipede)! Playing the remake of, say, Space Invaders or Q*Bert, I found myself falling into a pattern. I'd play through the game long enough to unlock the original arcade version, and then I'd play nothing but that! I'm not averse to remakes (and for the record, I count Tempest 2000 as a title apart, having come out before the big remake boom on 5th gen consoles), but found that games like Frogger, Ms. Pac-Man, and Pong gained nothing from their polygonal upgrades.

They should have called it BurgerTron. ;)

At risk of losing any cred I may have had (probably zero!), I have to admit I'm considering buying the Burgertime remake. I found the gameplay to be pretty decent, to my great surprise. Kind of felt like a slightly more open version of the old game, at least through the short demo. I'll probably opt for Daytona and Guardian Heroes instead, but I didn't hate it, kind of liked it in fact. Just my $0.02

Likewise, I may check it out too. I remember watching early videos of it and it still kept the same kind of play style, albeit now you can supposedly jump. That might actually make things interesting.

I tried the demo of this HD remake the other day and I don't know why so many reviewers hate on it. Admittedly all I tried was the demo which has the first three levels on it but it seemed a reasonably fun modern spin on the Burgertime game.

Anyone know why this title is getting so much hate?

Yeah it wasn't too bad but it could have been so much better. I wish people would take a look at Pacman CE or Space Invaders Extreme and just keep the old 2D raster graphics and then just build on it for modern times. Why make things "3D"? Keep the original graphics and make it better.
