Mario the carpenter and his brother Luigi are hopping mad! The water pipes in their house are blocked with nests of crawling creatures. If the two brothers can't get rid of them they'll never take a bath again!

Post your scores right here in this thread, and I will add them to the list. Remember to play the game with the recommended game mode and difficulty settings as shown above so that your scores will be consistent with everyone elses. The Manual
As always, you really should read the manual. In case you don't have the manual, AtariAge has a typed copy available online. Here are the hints it provides:
- Use your POW switch when there is more than one pest on the screen.
- Watch out for the last pest on the screen--it will speed up and be much harder to punch.
- Try to hit a Sidestepper two times as quickly as possible. If you're fast, you can flip it over before it scurries off to a different level.
- Learn the fastest routs to pick up coins during a coin phase
- You'll earn more points for kicking rather than punching Slipice. Slipice always stops on the lowest unfrozen floor. Wait for him to stop, then kick him off before he freezes the floor.
We played this game twice before in the High Score Club, back in Season 4, and way back in Season 1. Check out those threads for more hints and tips.

The fireballs are the real enemy in this game, so stay in the midle of the third or first floor/level as much as possible so you can detect the fireballs coming and JUMP OVER them.
Don't try to run away from the fireballs, practice on jumping over them instead.
If you have to move to the sides of the screen wait until you see the fireball go off, so you can avoid it.
The last sidestepper (crab) of every level is very fast, so punch it ones on the fourth floor/level (you standing on third) and then run down and punch it again on the second (you standing on first floor).

Tip About Bonus Lives: You get a bonus Mario for every 20K points, EXCEPT for every multiple of 100K. It means you get an extra Mario at 20K, 40K, 60K, 80K, 120K, 140K, 160K, 180K, 220K, and so fourth.
Tip for Beginners: To learn how to play Mario Bros., practice with Game 3 (5 lives to start without fireballs). Then, play Game 1 (which is chosen for this contest).
