Hi folks,

I'm awaiting the delivery of two (count em, two) Atari Lynx II's (1 from UK, 1 from New Zealand) and I can't wait!

I've admired the console for as long as I can remember, but for some reason I stuck to my Nintendo and Sega consoles, and it would appear I've missed quite the trick.

The Lynx appears to be a platform with a load of dedicated fans, and I'm looking forward to becoming one of them!

I can't wait to get my hands on those consoles!

I need an idea for a couple games (best of the bunch) to sink my teeth into before i try to get a full set of boxed games, as I'd like to spend the money to get the full set.

I already have a battery pack (boxed) on the way, a comlynx cable, so I'm on my way.

Anyways, I thought I'd pop in and say hi, and let everyone know that I'm proud to be a member of Atari Age forums.

Cheers!

Hi and welcome :)

Oh I bet youŽll love your new toy. Half a year ago I started a very similar thread here (now down on page 2 or 3 maybe).

Favourite games? Depends on the genre. IMHO Checkered Flag (racing), Lynxopoly, Shanghai (board games), Rampage, Xenophobe, Ms Pac-Man, Joust (Arcade), Slimeworld, Rygar (platformer) and Steel Talons, Battlezone and BattlwWheels are all a blast to play on this system.

And this console is still being actively supported, so expect some new stuff in regular intervals :)

Depends on your tastes really and as the last poster said there are a few recommendation threads of you do a search.

What I will add is though that the Lynx IMO has the best good to bad games ratio of any console and there really are very few bad games and alot of them can still be had new for a decent price.

This is soooo true.... it's too bad the system died such a young death. So many great games we're in the works that never got finished.

-rick

I still break out my system a couple times a year... the music is so good on that little handheld. Get KLAX! and crank up the volume!

Very true, I recently started collecting for the Lynx and was shocked at the number of games that can be had new. Don't know what shipping would be like to the UK but this ebay seller has a lot of Lynx games factory sealed for very cheap. I not to long ago bought a bunch from them and they were all in amazing condition, no crushed boxes or anything.
