I found only inaccurate info about European Realease date of Atari 7800 system: on wikipedia there's only "1987", in other websistes I found "1988" (so late??? I can't believe...), others reported "late 80s".
I know XEGS was released in Europe Septempber the 1st, 1987 but what about te Prosystem?

I think the first magazine to review the PAL 7800 in Germany was Joystick 6/89. And all of the PAL 7800s that I opened had a manufacturing date of 1989 or later. Also Peter Pachla once told me that he didn't have a PAL console when he ported Jinks to the 7800 in England in 1988/89. So a release date somewhere around mid to late 1989 seems plausible to me.

I ordered my first 7800 UK version from Kays catalogue in 1989, the first time I encountered it in the catalogue, which I was getting since 3 years.
Here's an article from UKs most famous fanzine 8:16 issue Aug 1990
