OK, I'm getting the hang of this game a little bit. Not as well as JacobZu7zu7 and the rest of you guys getting those amazing scores, but enough to earn the bonus which was my main goal. I'm getting better at moving my crossbow with the characters so I'm always above their heads to knock out birds, icicles and other dangers. I'm getting better at timing those arrows at the drawbridge, too. The hardest part is when something is coming at your guy from above and the side at the same time and getting your crossbow to both dangers in time.

Here is my bonus level:

Your guys are chained in the dungeon. Keys are dropping from above (I'm not sure where they are coming from--Providence, I guess). The trouble is, spiders are swooping up to steal the keys. You need to aim your crossbow at the spiders to knock them out so the keys can drop into the locks. There are only a certain number of keys that drop (fewer as you progress in the game) and you have to make sure four are successful to release your guy so he can jump into the escape hatch. If the spiders steal too many keys, your guy dies.

This level tells quite a bit about you Miss 2600. Strange, but clever!

Here is my SEA Level. The goal is to cross a sea to advance the game. The adventurers travel by boat (instead of walking on this level).

Attachment s_Crossbow_ocean-islands.PNG

There are crabs and eels that will get you from below. Also, a giant octopus can pop out from the sea and take the adventurer down to a watery grave. Finally, the ever present vultures await their opportunity from above as well.

My Favorite. Simple yet effective. Keeps with the game flow!

Yeah, I was gonna' say that, you could make a new adult game concept with it Miss.
Think Custers' Revenge, except this time the Cowboy is locked/chained up
by the Indian woman... :P

Let's not explain the gameplay on this one ;)

Has there ever been an adult game in the HSC? I guess there could be minors participating so it may not be a good idea. I was just wondering.

Actually, that's somewhat like the arcade game "Chiller" by the same folks who made Crossbow, fittingly enough:

Chiller Arcade.jpg

Dark, dark stuff. Much more gruesome and distasteful than your ideas, clearly, but obvious similarities.

Wow. How gory do these new-fangled games get? The harshest thing in my collection is the 2600 Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which is pretty tame (and lame).

Since I been checking (season 4 on) No, there hasn't been.

Porky's was the most risky so far... (most likely)

here's some info on Mystique

Mystique was the name of a company that produced a number of pornographic video games for the Atari 2600, such as Beat 'Em & Eat 'Em, Bachelor Party and Custer's Revenge. It was one of several video game companies that tried to use sex to sell its games. Mystique was an offshoot of Caballero Control Corporation, who produced pornographic films, and American Multiple Industries. The company's games were sold under the "Swedish Erotica" banner, although they were programmed in the United States, and manufactured in Hong Kong.

According to industry watchers and critics, Mystique's game designs were generally simple, with crude graphics and unexceptional gameplay.

Mystique's game Custer's Revenge gained particular notoriety for its plot. In the game, the player controls the character of "Custer," a naked man sporting a cowboy hat and a visible erection, obviously inspired by George Armstrong Custer. Custer has to overcome various obstacles in order to have sex with a crudely depicted, large-breasted Native American woman who is tied to a cactus. The game prompted complaints from a number of groups - women's rights, anti-pornography, Native American, and video game critics all made complaints.

Mystique went out of business during the video game crash of 1983. The rights to Mystique's games were sold to the Playaround spin-off company, which continued the pornographic game line.

Don't worry Zero the moderator, probably hasn't forgotten. Its just his last high score updates left off on page (3)

Your score is on page (4), with Pis and Vocellis', score improvements (not yet counted).

Late tonight should be the final totals.

Still going strong, but wanted to get a score in if time runs out. Lost the 2 point bonus last week due to it. :)

That does kind of look like it. Weird.

Yikes, that game is gratuitously gruesome!
