I picked a Lynx up last night. I got a model 2 with 8 games in a carrying case for around $100. I think it was a little high, but to be honest the system and all is in such great shape it was worth it to me. I cna't remeber what all the games were, but I know I have Batman Returns, Blue Lightning, Gauntlet, Kung Food, and Swithblade II. Pretty cool system.

I do of coarse have questions. Is there a way to plug this thing into the wall to play it instead of feeding it batteries? And what games should I be sure to get for this thing? The system already has me hooked just because of how odd it is.

The Lynx does have an AC adapter. As for games, there are lots: Chip's Challenge, Shanghai, and Pinball Jam are pretty cool games.

Pinball Jam is one of the ones I couldn't think of that I have. I turned it on and played for just a little while to make sure it worked. I'll have to go back and actually play it some.

I see there is a S.T.U.N. Runner port, I'm gonna have to get that one. I used to love that game.

Ahh, bro, you gotta get stun runner, great on the lyxn, has the voice samples right from the arcade. Road Blasters is another great port, the only two ports of those games that has the voice samples ported straight from the arcade hardware! I would recommend:

Stun Runner
Road Blasters
Shadow of the Beast
Lynx Casino
Kung Food

Ah hell half the collection!

Have fun!

Hey congrats!! The Lynx 2 is probably my FAVORITE game system of all time. It's fantastic and WELL worth the $100. I paid even more for mine. All the games everyone is suggesting are the right games to get. But you know WHAT? There are so few games on Lynx that I suggest collecting them ALL! They are all pretty spectacular even the common titles. But most of all HAVE FUN and HAVE A GOOD TIME with your LYNX! It's just a fantastic system by any standards.

I spent some time last night with Blue Lightning and I really enjoyed it. I did some looking around AA and found that my copy of that game is the rarer shape so thats cool. I noticed it was different but didn't know untill last night that it mattered at all.

I'll be looking for STUN Runner soon for sure, and I will of coarse keep my eyes open for more and more games for the things as time goes. So far I love it. I have to get a model 1 now just to have the larger one too. Alas having just spent $100 on this things I need to not buy more stuff right away. The wife might actually get upset with my collection one day so I have to let is grow slowly from time to time to let her think it isn't taking over the entire house, but we all know it already has.

There is anAC adapter for it - but I never use mine. What is the point of an handheld game that plugs into the wall.
I use good quality rechargeble batteries and they seem to last a long time.

Welcome to the Lynx.

Don't forget Lemmings, Checkered Flag and Chips Challenge !!

Enjoy your Lynx.

My favorites are Shanghai and Gauntlet.

I really like Kung Food too, but I cant seem to not loose all my lives at the end boss of the 1st level.
So I always start Level 2 with only one life. :x

congrats on joining the "lynx club". If you want to beat some of the longer games you might want to get an AC adapter. modern NiMH batteries last a while if all 6 are fully charged, but I would recommend looking for an AC adapter that matches the original specs. My lynx II (and my original lynx) both broke right where the ac adpater plugs in, so I only can play with batteries, but not a big deal nowadays.

some games i highly recommend
California Games (best game the lynx has to offer IMO)
stun runner
lemmings
desert strike
chips challenge
steel talons
road blasters
ninja gaiden (not like the nes version, its an arcade port)
Rampage
Rampart
Warbirds
xenophobe
