Tried it too - the physics feel right, the graphics are nice - but the framerate is terrible. It makes my eyes not able to truly follow the action. I probably won't buy the game based on the demo...a Sonic game needs to move smoothly.
They still have till December to get everything working just right.

Nah, remember this is Sega we're talking about. When was the last time they refined a game before release?

Did you play it on 360 or PS3? I noticed this too in the PS3 version... just horribly choppy framerate... and I was hoping that maybe the 360 version's better.

Sorry - I was on the 360 version. It's apparently across the board. Someone theorized that maybe the frame rate is because they are supporting 3d and therefore need to render twice as many frames to support that so in 2D we're only getting 30 fps.

We'll see what happens when it launches.

Sonic Generations is seriously begging the case for me to finally get a 360.

Eh, play it on PC. It'll probably run better. I want to see it on 3DS, too... the backgrounds look cool & this may be one game where the 3D actually makes it easier to play.

None of my PCs can run much of anything made after 2005 (I far prefer console gaming anyway), and there is no way I'm spending $250 for a 3DS.

I really never noticed the frame rate, maybe because I was raised on consoles and am used to only 30 frames?

I couldn't tell you the framerate, only that it looks very very choppy. I would be surprised to hear that it's as high as 30fps though.

well reviews are starting to come out and ign gave it an 8.5-

It feels refreshing to be able to say that Sonic is good again. His upward trajectory over the last year continues and he’s only gaining momentum. Sonic Generations is largely a game for the most hardcore of Sonic fans, but for the millions who have fond memories of narrowly dodging spikes, grinding on rails, or even that time he was a pinball, Sonic Generations is a game made for you.
