On ps2,gc and gba games: buy 2 get 2 free. They're phasing them out of the stores so if you're in the market, its time to stock up.

Promos also work online.

I can't believe they're taking PS2 GC and GBA games off the shelf, that was the only reason I would visit the Gamestop near me...Hopefully I can get some cash handy to take advantage of their sale.

Goodness, they're phasing out PS2 games, while the system's still at retail; that's the opposite of Xbox, which they carried on with (esp. used) for some time. Time must be drawing near the end for the good ol' PS2.

edit: They still want $20ea for certain GBA and GC titles?

^^ I was looking at their prices listed on that site..those are about what I'd normally expect to pay. If it wasn't for the B2G2 this wouldn't be much of a sale.

What else would you expect from gamestop though.

I've already been stocking up on gamestop ps2 titles, making a couple online orders in the last week. I got my first one today--5 games, generic dvd cases (I suspect they all will come that way). At least I got free shipping though, but maybe that deal is over.

They had an ebay-beating price on midway arcade treasures 3 ($5).
Hell, PS2 Britney's Dance Beat was only $1. I actually liked the gba version, so I figured that I'd give it a shot at that price.
Hell, Culdcept is only $7--I'd expect that to be more.

I think the buy2 get2 is my chance to snatch up a bunch of those Atlus alchemy-related rpg's.

Yea people complain about gamestops prices but if you look up prices of some relatively rare games like the ps2 wizardry, they only want 3 or 4 bucks, online expect to pay upwards of $25 for a caseless copy. Unfortunately its sold out online but still.

As for lacking instructions/cases someone introduced me to videogameinstructionbooks.com (I think that's what it is,may have to google). Cases/manuals cost a few bucks but at least there's a solution for assy generic cases.

The Gamestop closest to me (Hingham, MA) removed all PS2, GC, and GBA games about a year ago.

What are people doing with there cases? I can understand back in the cartridge days people throwing away the cardboard boxes, but a jewel case that houses the intructions or a dvd style case getting thrown in the trash? Makes no sense to me. I won't even buy most (if not any) CD game without its case and instructions. I know that Gamestop throws away some of there games cases, since a chunk of there PS2 section is in paper sleeves, and that seems unacceptable. Whats even more disgusting about that, is that they aren't priced any cheaper for being in that condition either.

For the longest time, the Toys R Us near me had dozens of copies of that one for $4.95 each.

That's what I thought when I checked this thread. The Gamestop nearest me got rid of their GC and GBA games a LONG time ago.

Are they lowering the prices on any of these games? Hope there are some decent titles left.

This might be painfully obvious, but you can mix and match, right? Like 2 GameCube games a PS2 game and a GBA game?

I'm sure you can mix and match. Has there been any promoting for this outside of that one article? I can't find much info on it from their website, and I haven't been into their stores lately so if there's signs I missed 'em

I just got an email about it last night confirming that it is indeed a real thing lol. The promo information will probably go up on their site either Sunday (today) or monday, that seems to be when they update it.

Yeah, my email said that I could have access to it on the 17th because I'm in their stupid club--too bad that it doesn't work as near as I can see. This is a shame, since I bothered to fill up my basket. Awesome games too, even at the $2 pricepoint, Mr. Mosquito is on the list.

I don't know what time zone they're in, but the 17th started a while ago pretty much everywhere in the continental US. If they don't hurry up and activate it, they'll get hungover reaperman instead of drunk-spendy reaperman. The drunken version has a pretty well unlimited budget...

I guess I'll wait until tomorrow.. Posted Image

I'm really hoping this isn't an in-store only sale,I've kinda already cleared out what I want from the local store.

I also have a full basket ready to go lol. I've spent days fine tuning it.

Perhaps, but in a few weeks when all Game Stop stores are devoid of PS2 games, it might become a pretty good time to start selling them.

I just grabbed 28 ps2 games from my closest gamestop. Even the employees didn't know that it really started today, and quickly began putting together their own stacks.

Great news on the online though.

Heading there now.
