I let some twenty first century scholars, there kids that spend the weekend at the student housing who are planning on going to my college. Borrow a Atari Lynx 2, large atari lynx case with the top that holds games. Plus my 8+ games that included Zaku, Joust, Shadow of the beast, Zalor mercenary,Ninja Gaiden, Scrapyard dog,Stun Runner,California games, and Steel Talons among others. Said they would return it the next morning and never did, plus left before I could go to there dorm. Have spent the last two weeks talking to 21 century scholars just to find out they can't do anything because both kids deny everything. so I had to know go to the campus police who are part of the state cops and file a theft report, just hope they still have the video footage from then, all hallways have video surveillance and it is 2 versus me.

I will not let it effect the positive outlook I have of people though.

Gravey's first commandment of classic gaming is:

Thou shalt not loan thy classic games to anyone save your best friend, and only if thy best friend is also your blood relative.

Sorry to hear it man. That really sucks! I don't know how you have resisted the erge to beat them, but good on you for staying strong. I hope it works out.

I have already reported to the cops and I am going to get some law advice encase I have to take them to civil Court. I am not the type of person to to go down without a fight. No matter what it costs me to take them to court so well. I just want to teach them a lesson to to let them know some people do not go down easily.

Yes, sorry to hear this. These things are bloodily annoying and you feel so damn helpless then.

May the thief be incarcerated in a slime world...kidnapped by a hand from out off space (Toki)...A.P.B. Officer Bill will find him! Smack a folded newspaper into his windows! May his ostriches all be pterodactylized!
Any other metaphors available? ;)

Filled a police report and have yet to hear anything. I am trying to decide money wise if it would be worth it to take them to a civil court.

I don't understand why you would lend your stuff to strangers. That being said, these guys are dickbags. Did you give the police their names?

I had my Wii stolen a couple of years ago- my scumbag trainwreck of a roommate at the time let some random people she had just met in the house, and it disappeared. It was a Christmas gift from my parents and had a lot of sentimental value.

It burns. Theft sucks. But today my girlfriend and I have a stable home, and TWO Wiis, one for me and one for her!

if "21st Century Scholars" is some sort of student organization you may be able to bring them up on conduct charges. It will bring a slap on the wrist at best but the powers that be may not be inclined to give a recommendation to a thief. In the meantime, if you need anyone castrated please let me know.
