So I picked this up a huge lot of 1200xl stuff from this guy on craigslist today.
But i found this mixed in with all of the stuff. What is this exactly? I tried plugging it in, but nothing happened, it just went to the colorful Atari screen

It appears to be some kind of home made test cart. Interesting anyway.

There's no ROM on that board. The IC is a hex inverter.

It looks like the inner workings of a Flux Capacitor. It should work fine, but you need to get it up to 88 MPH. That, along with one point twenty-one jiggawatts of power and it should kick in just fine!

...the "Super-Cart" was a device that let you play back-up cart copies from your floppy drive. Only went to 16K though. The tricky part was coping carts!

If you look closer, it's got a Texas Instruments SN series sound chip. These were found in TI99/4a , Sega MasterSystem, and Nintendo NES (maybe Coleco?)
