Yes, get to know the owner. This is much easier in the mom and pop type thrifts as opposed to the chains like Goodwill and Salvation Army. The one place I go to automatically holds stuff for me and just sells me items by the box. Could be a box of broken joysticks or a box of 50 rarity 10's (yea like that would happen) but its usually $5-$10 no matter what it is.

I found some Genesis games at Gamestop. Not exactly a thrift find but they were games I have never seen before. Here goes:
-Zero Tolerance
-Combat Cars
-Where in the The World is Carmen Sandiego?
I also picked up a Game Genie for the Genesis.
I can't access Digital Press site to see how rare they are. I assume that I have some rarities but I could be wrong.

I don't think Zero Tolerance is too rare. It got some decent reviews. I have it myself, it's a good game. They only got to the beta stage of a sequel though, since the Genesis market was failing. Too bad, I would've liked to see it to see what they would've done next.

It's a Rarity 4. That's good enough for me.
The Digital Press guide does not have the game, Virtual Bart on it's list. I'm wondering what the rarity of it is though. It was released close to the end of the Genesis life cycle.

Saturday's Fflea market finds:
-- 15 2600 cartridges (including Ghost Manor / Spike's Peak double-ender)
-- Radio Shack TV Scoreboard pong clone (4 games) in mint condition
-- 13" X 13" Q*bert metal serving tray (dated 1983)
all that for $13.
At one thrift I discovered 61 2600 carts (i counted them--never seen that many in a thrift before!) that were in a bucket waiting to be placed on a shelf. When i saw that huge pile I went to grab a basket to put them all in so i could sort through them in private. I grabbed a bunch for $1 each. They included Pengo, "Raiders Lost Ark", GI Joe Cobra Strike text label, Star Fox, Slot Machine, Cookie Monster Munch, and Alpha Beam with Ernie.
Then at another thrift I got an Amiga Power Stick controller.

well today I wasn't actually hunting for a find it just jumped up and slaped me
in the face
I walked into a newly opened (4 weeks or so) video store, and
there was a bin up front with a nice little row of SNES games. If that wasn't
enough, they where all like new (minus rental stickers). all for $4.95 each.
I had exactly $5.25 in my pocket so I picked up Starwing, the manual looks
like it was in a war but the box is mint and even came withe the plastic cover
the cart originaly came in
and the cardboard insert for the cart.
Needless to say I'm going back tommorow whan I get paid

*finally* got to go to a couple of places to look for games over the last two weeks. I found a copy of Raquetball (by Apollo), Donkey Kong Jr. for the 7800, and a copy of Dirt Trax FX for the super nintendo (Dirt Trax cost me a whole seventy cents.
).

Now the same "thrift" shop that wants $90 for the intellivision (it's still that price) has a 4 switch woody, game center, box, a few controllers, and about 12 games. And they want $100 for it. Give me a break!
Did get some decent finds at another thrift store today. A few 2600 carts with manuals for $2.00 apiece. Common carts, but I either didn't have the games or didn't have the manuals, so I bought them.

Dude, are those NOT typos, you do mean a. m., not p. m., right?
Man! That's insane. I thought a lot of video gamers didn't start moseying into those places until the afternoon! Guess it's a helluva busy swap place though, and it sounds like you came out decently!

December's was rained out, there isn't one in January, Feb's was rained out and March was on a public holiday I didn't get. Sigh.
If you've got a non-working C64 I could really do with the SID chip for my Catweasel MK3...

Our Swapmeets are mostly held from 7am till 1-2pm here, A person in the UK would call it a Car Boot Sale.

I know they were Rained out, but it just happened to be a perfect day of 32ºc and Not A cliud in the Sky Yesterday. Yesterday was labour day here in Western Australia, a public holiday. The whole area, Including the carparks people were selling from and had stalls. I believe their would be almost 1000-1500 stalls in the whole swapmeet, a record since I've been to almost all the telethon swapmeets since theiy started in Wanneroo And Karrinyup. Also, I remember they were at whiteman Park Before that, out of the way place IMHO.

Not exactly a thrift find, but I found Dune II NIB for C$2.00 at a local video game store yesterday. It even included the flyer for a contest that ended in 1997!
Most of their stuff is very overpriced (N64 games are still C$60-80), but I have found a few decent PC games on the clearance rack there.

A little action today. 4 NES carts:
Shockwave (American Game Cartridges) - considered rare
Mario Bros. - the Classic Arcade - kinda rare
Iron Sword - common - Is that Fabio on the cover?
Life Force - common
$2.00 each
Another thrift had an older Acer computer with monitor for $10. I'll try that later. Hopefully I can pass it on to someone in need, assuming it works.

Yes! $10 netted me an older Acer Aspire with a Cyrix 166, 32Meg, and a 2 gig drive with a nice 15" monitor.

Today's finds:
Nintendo Virtual Boy complete but missing the foam face shield...$13
3D Tetris for above $3 I already had a display unit with faceshield intact in a box that I got previously, so now I have a complete working one.
Atari 2600 6-switch complete in box (box innards not there, but the system is in extremely nice shape)...$20
Bunch of 2600 common carts (well, and Pitfall II) .75 ea (this is another one of those ones where you just know that a system, etc was there but someone else beat you to it.)
Also picked up some assorted NES, SNES commons, but nothing worth mentioning.
All in all a pretty good thrift day.
